Why have Protestant nations historically been more prosperous and successful in war than Catholic nations?
Immediately after liberating themselves from the Hapsburgs the Dutch republic kicked the Spanish and Portuguese out of the East Indies and became the richest nation in the world.
Britain kicked France out of North America and would go on to become a superpower, and only be eclipsed by its own colony.
France achieved it's greatest victories when ruled by a deist.
Germany/Prussia repeatedly blew France the fuck out.
Italy's military history is just embarrassing. Austria was completely carried by Germany in the Great War, and even lost to the Russians when by themselves.
Spain experienced nothing but decline since the reformation.
And also the biggest advancements in science, technology, medicine, etc have mostly come from Protestant nations.
Alexander Hill
It has less to do with religion and more to do with the fact that Northern Europeans are racially superior to Southern Europeans.
Grayson Hernandez
>Immediately after liberating themselves from the Hapsburgs the Dutch republic kicked the Spanish and Portuguese out of the East Indies They just bullied Portugal that had an smaller population. They failed miserably to invade the Phillipines and theit power was reduced to nothing by the XVIII century > Britain kicked France out of North America and would go on to become a superpower, and only be eclipsed by its own colony. Britain lost most of the time. And never became a superpower > Germany/Prussia repeatedly blew France the fuck out. No it didn't >Spain experienced nothing but decline since the reformation. No it didn't. The XVIII century was a quite good century for Spain
Joshua Myers
wtf am I reading
Gabriel Smith
>Britain kicked France out of North America
I think it had more to do with raw numbers than Protestantism If anything the fact it took them a decade to deal with an enemy they outnumbered so heavily is quite shameful
Noah Hall
Because protestantism isn't as much as a faith than a business tool. That is literally why Vasa converted Sweden, so he could get better trades and relations with Britain.
Nolan Mitchell
>Britain >Anglican >Implying it's not just Diet Catholicism
Nicholas Jackson
>Spain experienced nothing but decline since the reformation. Bullshit the thread. Actually the XVII century is called in Spain "El siglo de oro" or "The golden century".
And just btw, the only one time the spanish tercios and the swedish army met in the battlefield, the swedish army was indeed BTFO

>And never became a superpower Do people really believe this?
William Rivera
Angry memelords do.
Justin Flores
But they're the same race.
Hudson Diaz
People think superpower means what the US currently is (which is actually hyperpower)
Of course if you compare Britain's rule over third world shitholes in the 19th/early 20th century that ended with them barely being able to beat lone Germany when allied with half the world, to the current unchallenged US hegemony, it's hard to believe they're called the same word
Liam Williams
>Do people really believe this? It is a fact. If yiu compare the power of Britain at its peak to the power of the US at its peak Britain's power is laughable

Holy shit, Francophiles and Americans are utterly deluded.
Britain had from 1815-1930 The Largest Navy on earth, larger than the next 2 combined. It's Naval ability was literally unmatched and could choke countries to death. (See germany in ww1). It had the largest steel production ON EARTH until 1912, and was the richest nation on earth until around 1900. It was a superpower.
Grayson Martin
Also >that ended with them barely being able to beat lone Germany when allied with half the world
Britain was NEVER a land power. it deliberately had one of the smallest armies in Europe as they did not generally fight wars in Europe and were isolationist.
By 1944, when Britain had mobilized an army, it made up 60% of troops in North africa and the western front.

He provided a graph You provided a pepe drawing
Aiden Robinson
All his graph states is that Brits are far more prone to nationalism. It doesn't argue the point.
Jacob Myers
no they're not
Kayden Lopez
Yes they objectively are. Europe is actually pretty shockingly homogenous compared to all other continents.
Sebastian Thomas
>All his graph states is that Brits are far more prone to nationalism
Which explains why there are so many deluded Brits itt
Dominic Reed
>no "Fuck you" option for Germany
Josiah Reed
I'm not deluded, I'm being realistic. Argue a point.
Nathan Green
Catholics fought more enemies in general because they had to constantly fight Muslims. Catholic nations were constantly strapped because they fought so many wars against so many enemies.
France- Had to fight all of its neighbors Dutch- Purely naval and colonial power Prussians- Outlier and only significant example England- Primarily Naval power until late 18th century, ez mode, few natural enemies Austria- Had to fight Ottomans and France Poland- Had to fight Ottomans, Russians and Swedes Spain- Massively overextended itself Portugal- Punched far above its weight for its population
Cooper King
Britain was a superpower. It controlled a third of the globe, had the largest economy and the most powerful navy. You can hate the nation, but save yourself from delusion.
Bentley Miller
>Immediately after liberating themselves from the Hapsburgs the Dutch republic kicked the Spanish and Portuguese out of the East Indies and became the richest nation in the world. Excuse me?
Jonathan Ortiz
US is the first true superpower. Britain existed in a world where it had serious competition.
Gavin King
>The term was first applied to the British Empire, the United States, and the Soviet Union. However, following World War II and the Suez Crisis in 1956, the United Kingdom's status as a superpower was greatly diminished; for the duration of the Cold War the United States and the Soviet Union came to be generally regarded as the two remaining superpowers, dominating world affairs. At the end of the Cold War and the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, only the United States appeared to fulfill the criteria of being a world superpower

>protestants need fucking catholics to come in and save them from other catholics >beg even turks for help Protestants are worms. Rats. Despicable people without honor or respect.
Ethan Murphy
? The we wuz meme is only funny because black people really have very little basis for their claims.
I fully accept that Britain is a shadow of its former self, but facts are facts whether they support your narrative or not. Do you deny Britains colonial holdings and economic and naval strength?
Christian James
No it's because it was a bastardization of a then funny AoE meme with the Barbosa and Portugal. Then it turned into "We Wuz" then beaten dead mercilessly as white kids experience (the boards where we wuz proliferates are filled with underaged or borderline under aged posters) their first indirect encounter with Hoteps who just know peopel on Veeky Forums are vaguely starting to notice.
