I shall subjectively interpret that word.

Eireanon here. If you're asking what a Cataphract is, it's heavy byzantine cavalry.
Yeah but the picture does not show cataphract armor does it?
It does. Klivanion is the type of armor, and while not symbolic like the chainmail blanket, it was used by cataphracts.
Someone posted an exquisite Holy Roman Imperial armor once. Anyone?

Mandatory armour, without which no armour thread should be done.
Nothing even comes close to the basic Roman Legionary in my opinion.

Eh, the increasing lack of standardization, both in troop composition and in uniform, kinda ruins their earlier 'imperial' aesthetic.
I honestly hate it. Doesn't even look Roman to me, probably because of Germanic auxiliaries.
Actually, Germanics looked like Romans.
The Carolingian sword of the Frank's came from the Spatha, for instance.

They aren't basic though. Those men have been given extra armor for the Dacian campaign that didn't see use anywhere else.

Enjoy your hook worms.
There was no such thing as "Scottish" in the early Medieval period (600-900AD). The closest you have is Northumbria They would have dressed in the same styles as any other Anglo-Saxon Kingdom, depending on when exactly. Mostly maille and spangen style helms.
Those are 16thC Irish
Thats Italian.
70ish pounds, not counting the shield. Doesn't matter though, as you'd be in a chariot.

I said 'I hope it's close enough for ya'
Only off by 6 or 7 centuries. Not sure if the Irish changed much in the intervening years.

A shame they're memed awful hard, it detracts from their (very cool) real image.
