really I don't think it's crack as it is the reaction to it. Pure Cocaine is bad but doesn't have as much coverage or publicity of destroying the country because it's more associated with whites.

Desegregation killed off a century's worth of advancement in black communities. They built a whole system during that time which was wiped clean with civil rights act.

There are entire documentories on this subject on YouTube. I learned a lot about this through one by my curiosity on how the blood and crips gangs formed which is a very complex system events that lead to their formation. The breakdown of the documentary was that post Martin Luther and civil rights movement blacks were still being treated as second class citizens(endless argument from that side I know). Even though schools were being desegaraised in cities like LA not many were moved around. On top of very poor funding towards to the black schools this created an animoisty in thre young generation post civil rights movement where education was not seen as worth the time and money so neighborhood gangs as a result start to formake. If I remember correctly they started as neighborhood watches but quickly transitioned to drug dealing and extortion as was easier source of income.
