Can someone tell me why so many people think the Rhodeisians were the good guys again?

I dont know much about the conflict.

It's mentally handicapped /pol/tards only.

it's contrarian /pol/acks combined with the fact that Mugabe completely ruined the area after Rhodesia fell, so it's easy to call them the good guys

...

outside communists conquering it

Wasn't Magube fine until the 90's?

No, Mugabe was always awful.

>Can someone tell me why so many people think the Rhodeisians were the good guys again?
>Bunch of Rhodesians see the havoc caused by majority rule
>Declare independence before the UK screws up
>Try to uplift the Africans as they weren't ready to rule
>Allow the educated ones to vote being way less strict than SA
>Despite sanctions create the most prosperous in Africa
>Niggers chimp out
>Start printing money and stealing lands
>OOGA OOGA we would steal but there is nothing to steal any more OOGA OOGA

>fast forward to now
>country be starving
>rats and other rodents are near extinct
>africans still blame white people for their problems

It is just /pol/acks with fantasies of gunning down black people.

/pol/ fantasy about how Africa can't work without white people.

>fantasy about how Africa can't work without white people
>Fantasy
It can't.When whites left they were just replaced by Lebanese,Chinks and Poo in loos.Niggers are incapable of ruling themselves. They are just too fucking dumb

>Niggers are incapable of ruling themselves. They are just too fucking dumb

>europeans colonize africa and rule over the uncivilized peoples there
>they dont educate or prepare the natives for self rule
>they just pack up and leave in the middle of the cold war
>africa is a shithole

I wonder who we can blame for this one?

>they dont educate or prepare the natives for self rule
Zimbabwe aka Rhodesia has the highest literacy rate in Africa, more than the countries which Europeans never colonized like Ethiopia or Liberia.

It also had the largest black middle class in Africa (%-wise) during Rhodesia times.

*rhodesia feels*

>they dont educate or prepare the natives for self rule
Rhodesia tried that and you are bitching about it.Also the asian colonies are outperforming the African ones by a wide margin when they recieved fewer investment and colonizers

>Zimbabwe aka Rhodesia has the highest literacy rate in Africa
You do realise that's because of Mugabe right?

because communists destroyed the breadbasket of africa, only slightly racist minority government, and quite possibly the finest anti-guerrilla military ever.

>By the mid-1990s Mugabe had become an irascible and petulant dictator, brooking no opposition, contemptuous of the law and human rights, surrounded by sycophantic ministers and indifferent to the incompetence and corruption around him. His record of economic management was lamentable. He had failed to satisfy popular expectations in education, health, land reform, and employment. And he had alienated the entire white community. Yet all the while Mugabe continued to believe in his own greatness. Isolated and remote from ordinary reality, possessing no close friends and showing clear signs of paranoia, he listened only to an inner circle of conspiratorial aids and colleagues. Whatever difficulties occurred he attributed to old enemies—Britain, the West, the old Rhodesian network—all bent, he believed, on destroying his "revolution."

from wikipedia.

>anti-guerilla military
xD

>Under Mugabe's leadership, there was a massive expansion in education and health spending. In 1980, Zimbabwe had 177 secondary schools, but by 2000 this number had risen to 1,548. During that period, the adult literacy rate rose from 62% to 82%, one of the best records in Africa. Levels of child immunisation were raised from 25% of the population to 92%.
I'm not saying he's a good leader but he certainly helped the country grow for awhile.

You do realize a 62% literacy rate was still one of the highest of Africa in the 1970s, right? Most African countries barely average those literacy numbers today.

Your paragraph does not contradict what I said.

Also note how the only other government to top Rhodesia was the "evil" apartheid South Africa.

And Mugabe made it better. What's the problem?

We're not talking about South Africa we're talking about Mugabe and Rhodesia.

The problem is he ruined every other aspect of the country

> Levels of child immunisation were raised from 25% of the population to 92%.
He ruined MOST aspects of the country. He definitely is a shit leader, but just like Castro he know's a few things about running a country.

>According to Rhodesian government statistics, more than 20,000 were killed during the war. From December 1972 to December 1979, 1,361 members of the Rhodesian security forces were killed, along with 10,450 guerrillas who were killed in Rhodesia, and an unknown number in Mozambique and Zambia, 7,790 black civilians, and 468 white civilians.
Yes they were.
