Generally I think people are increasingly waking up to the fact that religions should not set a fixed code of morality for all time. Circumstances change, and it's ridiculous to hold people to the standards of behaviour of 3000, 2000, 1400, or even 50 years ago.
All religions have to adapt and be flexible. Islam is no better or worse than Judaism or Christianity in this respect.
