Talking about ethiopian bibles
it's funny how ethopian, syrian and other bibles differ erratically
shows how consistent Christianity is.
That's because they're not written in the TRUE holy tongue

It's very unique and their own, you gotta respect that.

>The historical Jesus of Nazareth doesn't matter, all that matters is the Jesus Christ of faith :DDD
Also they'd have no need for perfect accuracy in copying their scriptures; so it's justifiable they might polish up some of the vocabulary and story, since they already know that it's true.
Da Jesus Book.

I'm throbbing. Indeed. Why can't we have nice things? Is protestantism really Muslim tier?
They are stylistic homages to medieval illuminated manuscripts, not deliberate attempts at realism.
>Da Jesus Book
They're hardly different from other pre-Renaissance Christian painting, and they're similar to Coptic or Mozarab manuscripts. They're not supposed to be naturalistic.
And no he couldn't.

"Idolatry" is the worship of an idol itself, not what the idol represents.
If you believed that a Biblical illustration of Jesus was in itself a divine entity then that would be idolatry
Nothing gets past you, does it?
We used to have nice things too, until Jewish Protestantism and Jewish Enlightenment came with their Judaism and turned beauty into uglyness.
Pic related.
The Jew always tries to combat God's beauty and the the natural order wherever they're at, and if possible, to eliminate them altogether. So it's natural that Protestantism, the Jewish form of Christianity par excellence, is iconoclastic and adverse to beauty and the representation of the human form.
Iconoclasm was officially condemned by the Western and Eastern Churches at the Second Council of Nicaea in 787 AD.
This decision was based on the arguments including that the biblical commandment forbidding images of God was because no-one had seen God. But, by the Incarnation of Jesus, who is God incarnate in visible matter, humankind has now seen God. It was therefore argued that they were not depicting the invisible God, but God as He appeared in the flesh.
That's neat what's that from?
What in the actual fuck are you on about.

Anyone know any good books about the history of Ethiopian/Coptic Christianity? I really don't know shit about this subject, or what "Coptic" even means in this context.
