>mfw mining $200/month of dgb with the gpu's I already own >mfw that $200 will soon be worth $4000 and then $40,000 next year >mfw I can make half a million dollars per year doing absolutely nothing with hardware I already own
tell me about it. Started with 2k month and half ago and now I'm breaking 8k. I was eyeballing some cheap rx470s to make a ethereum mining rig
Christopher Adams
How do I make a computer for mining DGB?
Tyler Foster
Dgb is close to its highest and will freefall
Anthony Green
kys fudder
Brody Torres
3000, faggot
Bentley Murphy
Holy fuck I can't find 580's anywhere. Anyone have a source? Are there any good power efficient alternatives? I don't mind something weaker as long as it uses comparatively less electricity.
Landon Myers
What graphics cards, user?
I'm mining ETH at about $105 per month on my single AMD RX 480.
Would it be better for me to keep doing that, and trade the ETH for DGB, or do you think I could get more by mining straight DGB?
Easton Lee
>next year you're dumping first week of june right before the "minecraft" announcement which we all know is smoke
Austin Walker
mine Siacoin
Benjamin Rodriguez
which pool? which miner?
thinking about getting into it.... currently mine eth and sia
Daniel Davis
Currently building a rig out of my old computer parts, whats a good gpu for the price??
Oliver Gomez
>tfw only one GPU >AMD Radeon HD 6900 >just barely making $1/Day
John Baker
>I'm mining ETH at about $105 per month on my single AMD RX 480. something is off, you should be getting at least 120 bucks. How MH/s ?
I'm looking around on what you can mine with multi-gpu computers. So far only seen ZCASH, ETH, ETC, Litecoin rigs. Search around user.
>currently mine eth and sia one gpu user or more? what OS?
Isaac Nelson
What pool you using? Wanted to join in but looking for a pool that's >80% global hashrate
Julian Sullivan
2 x 1080 and 2 x 1070 on win 10 6 x 480 and 2 x 570 on linux
truth be told, it's a pain in the ass....
Asher Adams
Monday I was planning to buy 6xRX470 to mine ethereum using ethos. Already made more than enough to buy the rig just by trading and planning to mine and hold whatever it comes from that rig. Honestly I was checking which parts I needed and started wondering if it was a good idea to mine other stuff and if it would be a good idea to build a second machine with another 6xRX470 to mine that. After getting past the setup you just leave it to be and works or do you need to constantly check that it's not fucking up?
Nathaniel Wright
Ok, I looked at their miner, but it's all arcane to me.
Their zip just comes with an exe, when I open it all it does is open a cmd that spams "error 404", and the first step in the readme is "build the miner by running 'make'".
Zachary Phillips
Type make and press enter
Nathan Hernandez
Doing that in the miner does nothing, the miner just spams "error 404" 50 times per second and doesn't let me type.
Doing that in the Sia terminal gives me "error unknown command".
Hudson Cooper
shit will go wrong, it will disconnect from time to time, you need to manage the heat and noise. also, rising difficulty fucks up your gains.
Thomas Ramirez
Where the fuck do you guys get the graphics cards? All the good ones are sold out or marked up high on ebay
Brody Bailey
I was expecting all that. I have the perfect place to leave the rig, heat, noise and electricity won't be a problem. I was wondering how often I will have to ssh into it to check how is everything going.
not from burgerland. Found a local shop that sells those and they sell them as cheap cards for kids who want to play LoL or CSGO. In fact when I ask for a quote on 6 or 12, the first thing that the dude told me was that it was better to get 1 rx580 for games and not build machines with 2x rx470s.
Josiah Hall
Look him in the eye and tell him that you're going to mine fake money to buy a lambo.
Colton Hughes
"make" is the command you need to run in your terminal while inside the directory of the make file. It will not work in hose contexts you described bro
Connor White
nah, the reason I can actually go and buy 12 of those fuckers is because nobody knows those are the pumps that will fuel the rocket that will get me to the lambo dealership. Made enough trading to buy at least 3 rigs (with 6xRX470s each) I will try to get one running this week and If I don't hang myself while setting that up I will try to build a second one. Kinda old fag here. What's happening with eth tokens, alt coins and the potential reminds me of early 90s internet and how everyone was clueless and thinking someone ordering a fucking pizza online was a joke. And I just ordered some shit from amazon using imaginary internet money and it will get here next week. As OP said... What a world we live in.
Jonathan Price
I have a spare GTX 770 and a pc i can use for mining.
Is mining etheruem or any other alt coin viable for me?I tried searching but no conclusive results
Jonathan Anderson
>I can make half a million in numbers on a screen
I can literally do that by typing $500,000 on a word document and claiming it's real money :^) didn't even Ave to spend money on GPUs
Owen Diaz
When does ETH stop mining
Alexander Wilson
make sure you have your power supplies and risers sorted. DO NOT use the sata or molex to pcie power adaptors unless you want a house fire.
also, the best risers are the ones with the 6 pin pcie power connector built in. the rx cards pull 75 watts from the pcie slot. don't cheap out on these things.
also:
add2psu nanopool claymore miner ubuntu 16.04 LTS with AMD gpu pro kingdian 32gb ssd is fine
remember psu's have an efficiency curve, most efficient at 50% load. buy platinum supplies with lots of pcie cables.
those tips should save you about 100 hours of fucking around.
Jaxon Sanders
How do you control fan speed on Ubuntu?
Jason Johnson
I don't fuck it. cards are open air, sit at about 70C
i dont give a shit about temps desu.
Bentley Richardson
Thanks a lot for your words user. After a few hours reading yesterday I read from several forum posts and blog posts the same regarding the quality from the riser cables and the PSU. I already have a 1200watt platinum spotted and pic related riser cables. Thanks also for the mini checklist, I will spend sunday afternoon reading about it. This may be a more /g/ kind of thread but I guess we should be getting one general about mining to get some anons into it and also ones that already own the hardware and the best they can do is game with it.
Good one, I plan on leaving open air in a room that's 20°C on the hottest summer day.
Jordan Lee
I mean my rig is in my basement and it is quite cold but y'all give no fuckzz lmaoo yea thanks for the checklist, almost bought molex risers.
Chase Collins
no prob.
there ere excellent examples of .bat files in the nanopool help area.
for claymore in ubuntu, i enter my config in the config file, then just start the miner from the terminal.
good luck bro. may your gains be mighty.
Connor Moore
anything under 90C on the card will be fine, don't worry about it. honestly, the cards will be obsolete before they fuck up. GPUs are your whore, not your wife. treat them as such.
Isaiah Wood
be careful with the sata power cables - they are not rated for the power the AMD card will pull.
Aaron Rodriguez
Hope so, you too mate. Can't believe I'm actually having fun trading and now trying to build the miner.
Caleb Foster
I only have three 480/580 whores to work with here.
