liquor-factory simulator 2

HoI2 and its derivatives are the only right answer

Darkest Hour produces some great Alt-Histories with mods.

>Playing a Fascist France run starting in 1914
>Play WW1 out till 1918
>Elect progressively right wing parties through 1924
>In 1924 Giacomo Matteotti wins the Italian general elections on a socialist platform
>Mid 1925 sees Mussolini's blackshirts and fascist supporters in full revolt throughout Italy
>By August Mussolini declared the formation of the Italian Social Republic, backed by Italian Naval and Marine forces, and Sicilian peasantry
>In early 1926 Fascist French forces invade in support of Mussolini, ending the Italian Republic

This led to a crazy late 20s-early 30s with Soviet backed socialist Germany toppling central European governments. WW2 started in 1936 when the German/Soviet coup attempt in Yugoslavia failed, leading Communist Hungary and Austria Invading. Yugoslavia was backed by fascist Italy, who quickly called in French support. The Germans and Russians declared war to back their puppets in the Balkans. Germany then launched a surprise attack through the lowlands in a repeat of the WW1 invasion of France. This brought the British in nominally on the side of France. By 1937 the "allied armies" were advancing in Germany and the Caucuses, but retreating in the Balkans and Italy. Crazy fucking war

Victoria II is phenomenal, especially if you mod it.

>tfw modded the shit out of it based on a Napoleonic victory timeline

Ebin GroBOttomanums xd.

What do you think of Anno? Was thinking of playing 1701

>Superpower 2

>had the chance to grab CKII complete for like ten bucks on a steam sale a year or two back
>now the basegame goes down to ten bucks at the lowest and all the dlc is still like $80

Great game, not historical. That said, though, if you want entertainment play a game. If you want to learn history read a book, listen to a podcast or watch a documentary.

What mods do you use?

I grabbed 1404 recently, and it's more a comfy chill-out game than anything for me.

Pathing from production buildings to the port/warehouse is really fucky though. And sometimes your entire populace suddenly decides they're starving.

The UI for darkest hour is fucking disgusting. How can anyone play a game with such a shitty interface? Autistic Micromanagement: The Game

>unironic turkblob

say what you will about the ottomans, but every turkish woman I've met has been qt af

i have met two turkish women total

> map painting simulators

I played my share of paradox games, but ultimately painting the map is all there is to them. Simulation-wise there really isn't much emergent behaviour.

eu4 is good, im going to conquer norway as hungary just like i did in real life with my penis

CK2

undertale

liquoria2

Thoughts?

This literally only applies to eu4

>implying

It really irks me how shit the map looks in memecux games. But why put in the effort when modders do it for free I guess.

Just pirate the DLCs, the developers are snowjews and don't deserve your money

Age of Empires.
>German "Reich"
when is this meme going to end?

thats HOI3, HOI2 was kino and HOI4 is normie edition

>tfw this game is too complex for me
I bought Crusader Kings 2 and only have an hour on it cause I can't even beat the tutorial

dude what?
if it's really that complex for you just watch a few youtube let's plays, that's a fast way to pick up

HOI4 blobbing is for fags.

The correct way to do it is aesthetic expansions and annexes to give yourself enough resources to be self-sufficient, then set up puppets and an empire spanning the whole map.

Keep trying, CKII is close to a perfect game even with its terrible, terrible UI.

I(other user) would argue to not bother with the ck2 to euIV converter

Yeah well you got lucky or you have seriously low standards. Turkish women are average at best

Gary grigsby games. Really anything by Matrix/Slitherine.

It depends really. Turkish women from the West of Turkey are very beautiful.

Cossacks Battle for Europe

CK2 and Victory go way further than that. In CK2 you have to deal with successions, plots, balance of power, inheritance and crusades. And in victoria expansion is secundary and some times not even profitable. EU4 is just painting the map though

2676 hours niggers
Get on my level

Nobunagas ambition anyone?

HoI4 is quite good.

>autism: the game

you clearly never played HoI2

Too bad I forget to screenshot the battle results.

I did, but it was like 10 years ago, I don't remember shit. I do remember playing HoI4 recently and it was quite good.

HOI4's way to easy

This.

HOI3 and HOI4 are clear steps backwarda compared to HOI2 which was the pinnacle of the series.

>Less micromanagement
>Cluncky political system
>Easymode
>Less historical accuracy
>Simplified tech trees

HOI4 is shit.

HOI2 Armaggedon with Stony Road or CORE mods is where it's at.

I gotchu.

>jihaded by all the mussies.

>Crusaded by dirty pope cause I wiped out the Milanese and killed the kang and prince of France in one fell swoop causing the english to take Normandy.

Portugese* not english.

I've played 400+ hours and had no idea this was a thing.
I laughed for a good 15 seconds.

Care to elaborate why HOI3 wasn't as good as HOI2?

lack of proper mods and it has a simplified tech tree

World At War is the best CoD game not necessarily because it of its faith towards historical events, but towards historical tone.

Why do people prefer Europa Mappaintsalis to Liquoria 2? Like are they too dumb to comprehend Victoria or what, EU is such a simplistic plebeian game and the only thing you can do there is declare war.

I find the period to be unaesthetic and totally uninteresting, the diplomacy sucks hard and the economics are still totally inferior to games like Distant Worlds.

Fuck Liquoria.

The fact that liquor happens to be the most valuable good in-game should tell you why.

It isn't, DH babbies just can't handle anything more than divisions and corps and call the OOB "complexity for the sake of complexity" despite it having actual effects on the game that players have to take into account.

The fact that Kaiserreich, which is basically a visual novel for DH, is the most popular mod should tell you that DH's war mechanics are so shit and simplified that modders have to rely on events to make the game interesting.

>19th century
>unaesthetic
Best be trolling nigger

There's a game called "Die Römer" (2006) (published by CDV) in German. Its gimmick is that it has a complete Latin translation.

Does anyone happen to know its English name? Can't find it.

I'm not. I genuinely strongly dislike most aesthetics related to the 19th century.

Then you're a fucking faggot.

Opinions, duh.

>Yoba
Figured you'd be some mongoloid from KC or 2ch.

Correct.

I was playing a multiplayer round of CK2 with my friend who asked me for a concubine. I suggested Glitterhoof and he graciously accepted.

who /norman/ here?

Lol Italy got shit for their contribution

i didnt ask them to join the war. i just steamrolled paris and britain and got the peace conference for the allies where i annexed canada, new zealand , australia, india, south africa, all of africa and the philippines. after that i just focused on killing the communists

Forget tone, it's all about that sick beat

Anyone got thoughts or ideas for their ideal Veeky Forums game?

Vic2 nation/kingdom management + Total War battles/tactics + Mount & Blade combat/player participation.
Different historical starting dates like 300AD, 1100AD, 1450AD, 1600AD, 1800AD, etc.

That is Age of Empires II

they patched the activator, pirated dlc is useless now.

timeline of civ, battles of total war, map and choice of nations of eu/vic/hoi

V2 basically just limits expansion through RNG infamy hardcaps and limited timeline. Once you hit great-power status you can just gobble up whatever you want, especially once great wars are unlocked. It has an interesting early game, but mid-game and late game always seem to play out the same.

nope still works check the pastebin in /gsg/

I always try to play as a map painter but it never works. I couldn't care less about my people, I just want to WIN AND HAVE MORE LAND AHHH

>I just want to WIN AND HAVE MORE LAND AHHH
You have to be at least 18 to post on this site.

Bought EU4 and Crusader Kings II not too long ago, toyed around for about an hour but didn't really know what I was doing.

How hard is it to really understand it all?

Not very hard. All the complexity is front-loaded. Once you understand the mechanics and how to exploit the AI, the games are fairly to play. You could always watch a video tutorial or LP series on Youtube. It might not be the /v/-approved way, but if can be helpful to see how a game plays out.

>You have to be at least 18 to post on this site.

This is a blue board you fucking idiot

Veeky Forums.org/rules
>2. You will immediately cease and not continue to access the site if you are under the age of 18.

>buying Paradox games
top lel

>implying hoi 3 is actually complicated

it's exactly the same shit as hoi2/dh just with shitton of provinces and with a lot of redundant technologies

>with shitton of provinces

This is what makes it over-complicated. Hoi 2 had good sized provinces that kept the front simple enough for a human to grok, hoi3 just zooms waaaay on in and the result is that you literally can't micro manage your shit and are forced to rely on the AI, leaving you feeling that you're just watching the game play itself.

Civilization VI

>and are forced to rely on the AI
I've never once had to rely on the AI. Maybe you should slow your game down or, you know, pause.

>turn-based
lol

I'll get one historical game of your recommendation right now, Veeky Forums.
Which one should I get?

Panzer Corps

Is there a map for Civ4 where you can play as Greek city-states?

You need events to make any HOI game interesting.

CK2 timeframe and ruler roleplaying but with Vicky 2 pop management and HOI2 battle mechanics

What the fuck is /gsg/?
