OP, I would not hold all eggs in one basket. I would personally suggest going to an exchange and trading some of your ETH for altcoins. This means diversifying your portfolio by buying other altcoins that aren't shit and have a meaningful use behind it. (STRAT, SC, XMR, etc...)

Then use vitalik's ethereum python library to get the address from the private key. You can also get the address using myetherwallet.com (the offline version, of course).
I did the same thing with btc, I really don't trust wallets anymore where you don't know exactly what's going on. Who knows what happens to the software in a few years?
