Every culture has achieved many worthwhile and fascinating this, from art to literature. It would be a travesty to simply ignore the entirety of the vast and varied cultural canon of the islamic world based on a cultural bias.

The same can be said here. Every culture has achieved many things. There is beauty to be found at every level of sophistication, from the comfort and simplicity of a monastery on Iona, to a family stead deep in some distant forest, all the way to bustling cities and monolithic architecture. Just because you might personally prefer one culture doesn't mean you shouldn't appreciate the creations of another.
