Surely most hate Russians since the cold war was the most recent one, but I´ve met some that despise both, and even Austria.

So no, Poles weren't really suffering that much under Russian rule. If they weren't riled up by their degenerate nobles to revolt they would be treated even better.

Russian dealings with Poland were barbarous (e.g. the massacre of Warsaw civilians in 1794) but par for the course for the era.

Because almost no one is around to remember how badly the Germans fucked them in the 40s. But many, many people are around who remember how the Soviets fucked them in the 80s and how the Germans helped them in the 90s Additionally German-Polish relations right now are friendlier than Russo-Polish relations, and a Pole living right now is much more likely to have interacted with Germany positively in some way (enjoying their products, living or working in Germany, knowing someone who has, etc.) than Russia.

Pexpletive worry much about the enemy of the future rather than the enemy of the past. For all purposes Germany and Poland are allies now and Germany is Poland's biggest threat in the future so Russian issues are played up big time in Polish imagination.

I know a lot of poles who actually resent the Jews for hogging all the Holocaust pity. Many poles see the concentration camps as a crime committed mainly against Poland and Poles, with Jews being secondary to that, and so when the world only really recognizes and cares about the jews it puts a bug up their butts.
