First of all, there are really only two sides of the Syrian civil war. Those who support Assad, and those who oppose him. ISIS being on the side that opposes him, although the "moderate rebels" funded by the US aren't officially affiliated with ISIS, they are still aligned with a common goal. This is why weapons given to the rebels turn up in the hands of ISIS, and this is also why you never see moderate rebels who actually fight ISIS. An exception is the Kurdish rebels, but they are hardly moderate and have been know to Massacre and behead Sunnis and shias.

They don't need to leave, their neighbours, who love them so much, could break their chains and just deal with them as a normal country from then on.

And yes, Israel does buy a lot of American weaponry. They also engage heavily with the United States in technological development, especially in regards to military equipment. Over half of all foreign aid to Israel from the US by law must be used to purchase American military equipment.
