Mormonism is a false religion founded by the devil

Best part of this thread is when the mormons come out of the woodwork and start answering questions.

Mormon anons WW@?

"The LDS edition of the Bible is a version of the Bible published by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The text of the LDS Church's English-language Bible is the Authorized King James Version; the church's Spanish-language Bible is a revised Reina-Valera translation and the Portuguese-language edition is based on the Almeida translation. The editions include footnoting, indexing, and summaries that are consistent with LDS Church teachings and that integrate the Bible with the church's other standard works. The LDS Church encourages its members to use the LDS edition of the Bible.

The eighth Article of Faith of the church states, "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly".[1]"

>as far as it is translated correctly

Gotta love that wiggle room for disagreeing with anything they like by claiming it's a translation error.

Just some cult which sprung up after John smith achieved some sort of gnosis and did some occult ritual.

So what's actually inside the book of mormon? Is it like the NT where it records things jesus actually said?

How? Jesus has been dead for 2000 years and then how do you reconcile polygamy when the bible says over 9000 times marriage is between a man and a woman

That's exactly what they do. Any of the many passages which contradict their beliefs are just mistranslations, even in the original Greek and Hebrew.

>Jesus has been dead for 2000 years
No, He was dead for three days. He's alive again now.

lol

You misunderstand.

I'm not a mormon user, I was trying to summon them.

>when the bible says over 9000 times marriage is between a man and a woman
Old Testament allows polygamy

No it does not

I like Mormons.
I SUMMON THEE, MORMONS

the phrase "false religion" is a tautology. You are not establishing anything particular, or interesting, by invoking it.

OP, the way that the particular cult/false religion of Mormonism works, is that it is "pretty-much" Christian, but there is enough about it that will cause other Christians to reject it as being a legitimate branch of Christianity. Still, Mormons and "other" Christians do read many of the same texts. the official scripture accepted by LDS Mormons consists of the following:

The Bible, and especially and particularly the KJV Bible's Old and New Testaments, being the protestant Gold Standard,

The Book of Mormon, "another Testament of Jesus Christ", as identified in your image,

and IIRC two other shorter texts, one of which is called the Pearl of Great Price, while the other is a sort of regulations/conduct/cultural manual for Mormons (IIRC).

Mormons are bro tier.

Joseph Smith was a con man.

>So what's actually inside the book of mormon
and it came to pass

It most certainly does. Exodus 21:10 talks about how if a guy marries a second woman, he has to make sure he supports his first wife at the same standard he did before.

Pear of Great Price and the Book of Abraham. IN addation to that are the doctrine and covenants which consist of other revelations experienced by prophets as Mormons unlike other Christians still believe in living prophets

>remarriage = polygamy

haha how true

Aheh, yeah. I feel bad for the people who are so sheltered or illiterate that they can read the Book of Mormon and think 'Wow, what a moving and engaging piece of religious literature!" On the one hand, the Ramayana or the Gospels, on the other hand "DUDE JESUS IN AMERICA LOL!"

>how do you reconcile polygamy when the bible says over 9000 times marriage is between a man and a woman
the OT says having slave concubines is fine though, how do you reconcile that?

>the bible says over 9000 times marriage is between a man and a woman
...and a woman and a woman and another woman...

Wives, plural, comes up 122 times in KJV.

Meanwhile, "Between a man and a woman", comes up 0 times.

Genesis 4:19: “Lamech married two women.” Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon, and others all had multiple wives. Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines, according to 1 Kings 11:3.

You can come up with one or two anti-gay passages in the Bible (one OT passage in particular, extremely so), but using it to denounce polygamy requires quite a bit more in the way of linguistic somersaults.
