How did mestizos end up in such a shitty situation? Does it have more to do with drug prohibition, failure of socialism across the region, or genetics?
>They currently have the highest crime rates in the world. Higher than nigs in the congo and goatfuckers in the middle east.

it's the spanish machismo culture and native central american warrior gene

>genetics?

Pretty much.

>Tenochtitlan was founded on an islet in the western part of the lake in the year 1325. Around it, the Aztecs created a large artificial island using a system similar to the creation of chinampas. To overcome the problems of drinking water, the Aztecs built a system of dams to separate the salty waters of the lake from the rain water of the effluents. It also permitted them to control the level of the lake. The city also had an inner system of channels that helped to control the water.

>During Cortés's siege of Tenochtitlan in 1521, the dams were destroyed, and never rebuilt, so flooding became a big problem for the new Mexico City built over Tenochtitlan.

>Mexico City suffered from periodic floods; in 1604 the lake flooded the city, with an even more severe flood following in 1607. Under the direction of Enrico Martínez, a drain was built to control the level of the lake, but in 1629 another flood kept most of the city covered for five years. At that time, it was debated whether to relocate the city, but the Spanish authorities decided to keep the current location.

>Eventually the lake was drained by the channels and a tunnel to the Pánuco River, but even that could not stop floods, since by then most of the city was under the water table. The flooding could not be completely controlled until 1967, with the construction of the "Deep Drainage System".

>The ecological consequences of the draining were enormous. Parts of the valleys were turned semi-arid, and even today Mexico City suffers for lack of water. Due to overdrafting that is depleting the aquifer beneath the city, Mexico City is estimated to have dropped 10 meters in the last century.[4] Furthermore, because soft lake sediments underlie most of Mexico City, the city has proven vulnerable to soil liquefaction during earthquakes, most notably in the 1985 earthquake when hundreds of buildings collapsed and thousands of lives were lost.

>”These people had no letters nor script, neither knew to write nor read. They communicated with images and paintings and all their history and books were recorded in figures and images, with which they knew about their ancestors and had memory of what they did and what they left recorded for more than a thousand years before the Spanish arrived to this land.”

>”Most of these books and recordings were burnt as other idolatries”, but many of them are still hidden. ”After we came to this land to preach our fate we gathered many young men in our homes and taught them to write, read and sing. As they did well we ensured to teach them grammar and a school in Santiago de Tlatelolco was built for this purpose. This school received the most able young men from all the neighboring towns. ”

>”The Spanish and clergymen who knew about this laughed and mocked, being sure that no one could teach grammar to people so unskillful, but working with them for two or three years they came to understand every art and subject of grammar and speak Latin, both written and spoken and even to write heroic verses. ”

>”As the secular and ecclesiastic clergymen saw this they became frightened of such thing being possible: I was the one who worked with them for the first four years and taught them about Latin and its knowledge. ”
>”As they saw that this project would continue and that they were improving, and they had ability for more, the clerics started to disapprove the school and object about the risks of idolatry this implied. ”

The College of Tlatelolco closed 5 years after Sahagun's death.

This and
This

Too much indio, too much communism.

Assuming he was even telling the truth, of course.

>Communism
All fucced by American backed coups

>All of Latin America is Mexico/Nicaragua/El Salvador
Americans.

Oh sure, communism isn't fallible of course. It was all those nasty imperialist Americans.

Post literally mentions America as one of the reasons LatAmerica is bad

Ah, but his assertion is that it is only the fault of America.

Which is nonsense.

Poverty is always a symptom.

None of the above

Latin America had, and to a degree still does have, a racial hierarchy cause everyone was fucking each other in colonial times

Look into the castas

Mestizos, even though some are successful, will always be second to the Criollos

>None of the above
>genetics

dumbass

I stopped at socialism, sorry

pretty fair desu

>Assuming he was even telling the truth
>even
did you even google a thing before posting

XD

OP never implied that you fucking waste of human, and those are not the only countries on the drug route to USA

JUST

they still had a lot to do

Considering how Venezuela and Brazil where "American backed coups" have failed to remove the socialist presidents, are extremely violent, I disagree with your vision that without U.S. interference (which is highly overrated by the way) Latin America would have become a socialist paradise like Scandinavia.

>ywn be able to discuss the history of Latin America without a retarded gringo undergrad too much influenced by Chomsky bringing the U.S. into discussion to blame everything on them

Latin America has traditionally weak institutions. The army has been one of the few strong institutions, that means they have traditionally interfered in politics. That would have happened with or without American interference, which, as I said, is highly overrated.

> Spanish machismo culture

Fucking black legend.

Genetics. They have an IQ of around 85 they will never be able to create a decent peaceful prosperous society.

>what is Chile
>what is Costa Rica

They just need a strong hand to guide them. It's democracy that fucks everything.

Chile has a lower mestizo population that say Guatemala and that shows.

>They just need a strong hand to guide them

Governance is a product of IQ

in case you can read more than two digit numbers and charts, here's your reply

I agree with this, if you haven't ever read "Inevitable Revolutions" it's a good pick. However, the other user's opinion that American influence is important also isn't wrong. While Latin American culture and society was most influential in revolutionary ideas, the reason revolutions were left leaning tended to be disenfranchised locals viewing American capitalism as negative.

I disagree, the reason revolutions tend to be left-leaning in Latin America is because Latin America itself is the product of a left-wing revolution, the Enlightenment.

Few people realize how "progressive", politically, Latin America has always been. We were the first continent to be entirely republican, while Europe was still struggling with monarchies, we were the first to separate church and state (Venezuela did it in the 1840s!), while Europe was still struggling with ultramontanism. There were a lot of radical, anticlerical and progressive revolutions in Latin America even before the U.S. turned their eyes to us, during the early 20th century.

So even without American interference, it would be easy for Marxism to dominate this intellectual climate. Notice that the country where Marxism has been more successful is Venezuela, which before 2002 had never experienced an U.S. sponsored coup, but it has been traditionally the most progressive in the region, being the first to separate the church and state in the 1840s, the first to completely destroy the church as a influential political institution in the 1890s, the first to become liberal democracy with open dialogue with the left in the 1950s.

You are retarded right?

Chile has a lot of mestizos, we are "fine" because our politicians were exiled in mass to Europe when Pinochet did his coup and they were educated there, so when his dictatorship went down we got those guys in power for 20 years.

Guatemala on the other hand has a terrible civil war sponsored by the US with terror squads and these savage things.

As Chile had a powerful military the US-backed coup never devolved into a civil war, and our right wing politicians were educated in the United States, so they made economical reforms based on that they learned in the US.

The case of Chile isnt a racial based one. We had our ruling class educated in the US for the economical reforms made in the dictatorship of Pinochet. And in Europe for the 20 years of social reforms of the Concertación that made Chile a less poor shitshole.

>our politicians were exiled in mass to Europe

Same is true for Brazil and Argentina, but it didn't work there.

>economical reforms based on that they learned in the US

Neither did that, for the record.

Chile is fine because of Diego Portales state-building in the XIXth century. He was the only conservative "founding father" of a Latin American country, and it shows.

Yes. Portales is our founding father. But in the XX century Chile got rekt by bad choices.
Without economical reforms made by the Chicago boys and the reforms to them made by the Concertacion we have never recovered by the shit state that the chilean economy were before the coup.

Argentina and Brazil are bigger countries. You need a bigger government to rule over the people and because of that you get a lot of corruption and inneficiency.

Chile has the luck of being a smallest country were reforms can be done easily.

That dont have nothing to do with race. We are isolated by our geography, we conquered rich lands in the war on our mediocre neighbors of the north, Portales made our model of a unitary merchant republic, the Radicals modernized the country, Chicago boys reformed the economy, the Concertacion made the social reforms.

Chike sucess is the product of his history. Our current sucess is the product of those men and women that were educated on the US and Europe.

Agertina needs to annex you

>central american warrior gene
Europeans have some of the greatest, most war obsessed people of all time. The fact that we have no issue fighting without this "warrior gene" makes me think the naming was just PC trying to cover up what should accurately be called the barbarian gene or savage gene.

>barbarian gene or savage gene
Europeans definitely had it
