What does population size have to do with the quality of architecture? I don't see how they were being prevented from building something like this before they were Christianized. Vikings were just dumb and stagnant.

It allows people to specialize more and therefore create more sturdy, impressive structures. Someone who's only job is to build buildings will do better than someone who also needs to farm and repair their own tools, etc.

chances are they existed, since stave churches are a thing, but the christians either christinaized it or burned it to the ground. hákon jarl was a pagan jarl of norway that was famous for restoring the old temples for the gods across norway (which again got sacked by christians when they got a foothold)

The Nordic race originated in Scandinavia, over half of Europe used to be Nordic and many parts of Europe still are. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone within any country of Europe who doesn't have Scandinavian DNA from some migration sometimes in the past.

Scandinavia until about 1760's was war-torn as fuck, they had the highest soldier population in Europe. Thinking Scandinavia was a quite isolated place, like now, just showcase your historical ignorance. Guess that's to be expected from a poor Mediterranean though.

False. Scandinavia's population has always been minimal because the land isn't terribly fertile. Settlements like Hedeby, which were considered the biggest, most booming settlements, had populations hardly exceeding 1,000.

Scandinavians spread all over the place for a number of reasons, but overpopulation wasn't one of them- and remember, pretty much wherever Scandinavian/Norse peoples settled, they melted into the local cultures, implying that there weren't too many of them doing the settling in the first place.

The idea of Scandinavia being super-populated is a bullshit myth coming from Roman historians who never visited the region.
