Doesn't Jesus' sacrifice prove that blood magic is real?
Blood as a powerful magic reagent turns up again and again in Abrahamic lore, in the story of passover for example, or Jesus telling his followers to drink his blood. God rejects Cain's offering of food but accepts Abel's offering of blood. Again and again through the bible he demands blood sacrifice to perform his magic, mostly animal blood but also human blood on more than one occasion.
Jesus needing to be sacrificed for god to do magic is just a continuation of that idea that god needs blood to perform magic, only this time the magic that god is able to do is much more powerful since the sacrificial lamb - literally the lamb is god - is a much greater offering than a mere animal or human.
Why else would Jesus need to die other than god needing his blood for magic? There's no reason for Jesus to die.
So blood magic has to be accepted as real by christians, and the implication is that blood can be sacrificed to divine beings in exchange for power e.g. to Satan.
What sacrifice? He had the power to resurrect himself so his death was completely meaningless.

>What sacrifice. Being tortured and suffering a horrific and prolonged execution. Why would he do that if it was meaningless?
Elijah Stewart
I used blood magic in my Dungeons and Dragons game.
Isaac Richardson
because he was in love with the idea of his own martyrdom
Josiah Clark
> So blood magic has to be accepted as real by christians No shit Sherlock, they literally drink Jesus' blood every communion, and they consider it extremely important for their salvation.
Carson Wood

Why do you keep posting Emma Roberts along with some dumb shit.

>He had the power to resurrect himself so his death was completely meaningless. post hoc fallacy

>Why else would Jesus need to die other than god needing his blood for magic? There's no reason for Jesus to die. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvation_in_Christianity#Paradigms_of_salvation Everything from moral infuence to uniting the human and divine in a hypostatic union, therefor bridging the chasm between them.
Wyatt Stewart
So Jesus had had no powers to resurrect himself before he did? Or he hadn't known he he had them despite him being God? Obviously he knew perfectly well what he was doing and how it's was going to end, him being omniscient and shit.
Jonathan Young
Christians never denied the existence of magic.
Jack Martinez
also, tricking death and evil itself into swallowing the light of God, burning and mortally wounding them in the process. Etc. Blood power and sacrifice angle is pretty interesting, but it's certainly not the only part of soteriology, as much as certain people really love the "JESUS'S BLOOD AND DEATH SAVES US!!!1!!" phrases.
Andrew Turner
>He had the power to resurrect himself so his death was completely meaningless. No.
Jose Taylor
Resurrection is the main reason to why Jesus came. To defeat death as Man.
Dominic Bailey
>Why else would Jesus need to die other than god needing his blood for magic? Even assuming that Jesus' death was required, Gods' divinity would have much more to do with the sacrifice rather than the mere blood.
Isaiah Cruz
Jesus getting sacrificed is literally the main point of the NT, entire Christianity falls apart to pieces if you don't accept that Jesus was sacrificed.
Noah Cox
This. Emma Roberts posting should warrant an instant ban.

>He walked a little farther and finally fell prostrate and prayed. "Father, this is the last thing I want. If there is any way, please take this bitter cup from Me."
Jayden Foster
That doesn't make being tortured to death any easier.
