I had severe ear pain and the appointment for an ear specialist would be a month, so I went to the e.r. and they sent me to a specialist the next day
I'd be more concerned with waiting 4 months to see a doctor and dying before you can see one.

You also in Canada? Real talk it feels like ER is the only way for anything. If you go at a good time you can get in and out in hours with x ray or ultrasound or a referral to specialist or whatever.
It's not an immediate problem, no big deal in that regard. My fucking gripe is with the fact that they're so unreliable.

I have a lot of Canadian neighbors that have winter homes around me....they also come here for the health care.

If it's not serious of course its going to take time, but when something is serious they tend to see you almost immediately or in a very short time frame. I'm happy with our healthcare.

There were cases in Quebec where patients literally had stage 1 prostate cancer, were told to wait, and by the time they got to the doctor it was stage 3 or 4, had spread, and they were going to die. If they got proper care at stage 1 they might have lived.

actually today i ditched the doctor by not undergoing colonoscopy even if i did the blood/pee tests and drank all the laxative...I did because I can.

My doctor has told me people have to wait years to get knee replacements. The only way to get one immediately is if it breaks.

I'm in great health and almost never need a doctor for anything and still, every single visit to a hospital has been an absolute shit show. This is just a taste of the apathy and incompetence.
