What sort of retarded question is this?

Why don't you ask how Jerusalem became so important to Christians.

That would be ideal. What do you know about Mecca?

Nice twist

it has no significance on it's own, god said go there once in a lifeteam if you can.

Did Muhammad die there?

The Kabballa (black box) is symbolic for being the place you pray towards. Muhammad himself would pray there.

Before Islam it was a holy place for Arab pagans. Mohammed pretty much used Mecca the same way Christians used pagan Christmas. Keep the festival change the deity.

The box is the "Kaaba"

Basically the site of the modern cube is where Arab pagans used to pray. Pre-islam it was a building that contains hundreds of idols dedicated to a variety of Arabic pagan Gods. It was used as a place of pilgrimage since far before Muhammad, and Christians as well as the Arabic pagans used to travel there. No wars / fighting was allowed within 20KM of the city, so the city developed into a major religious centre and trade also thrived there.

Muhammad lived in Mecca. After Muhammad left Mecca after an apparent assassination attempt, he went to a city to the north of Mecca, called "Medina". Here he was welcomed with open arms. The inhabitants of Mecca formed a militia army to follow him and to kill him - Muhammad formed his own army made up mostly of the inhabitants of Medina and had a few decisive victories against the invading army from Mecca.

Afterwards he invaded the city and demolished all of the idols in the city. A key tenet of Islam is that idols or anything representing God is not allowed, but I suppose you needed some sort of symbolism to pray towards, so kaaba is known as the "house of God".

The box is empty, it has a few pillars and the interior is mostly marble.

They massacred the entire city and claimed it as their own.

Also Mohammed was "bullied" there by the polytheists after he talked shit about their gods.

>They massacred the entire city and claimed it as their own.
No. Meccans surendered, and plenty of mohammads enemies become muslims.

This actually caused a major friction, those who were with mo since the first times resented the fact old meccan elite still hold power.

The conquest of Mecca was entirely peaceful. During the opening skirmish, 12 Meccans were killed and then entirely surrendered. The Meccans and the muslims had a truce which the Meccans broke.

After the city was in muslim control, 10 people were ordered to be killed for starting the conflict - though even in that case not all were killed, only a handful of those 10.

It was a location that contrasted sharply with the pleasure palaces of Mesopotamian cities, geographically separated by great distance and harsh terrain. Even the trek from Medina is tough on foot, which made it that much more effective as a site for itinerant pilgrims that revel in spiritual fulfillment through physical hardship.

You have to understand, a lot of what we understand as Islam was formulated in Syria and Iraq by cosmopolitan urbanites, and Mecca was this place considered remote and untouched by the evils of civilization, politics, and heresies.

An Arab ruler of Jerusalem decided to found a city there and made up the story about Muhammed living there. He built the box and wrote that muslims had to pray in its direction (they used to prey towards Jerusalem).

The box isn't empty, it has a black meteorite in the eastern corner that ancient Muslims believed Abraham and Ishmael placed there as a symbol of God's covenant and with the Muslim community itself

It's the Zerg Overmind Emulator Beacon.

It's an idol. They'll never admit it, but that's what it is.

>What's in the box and what is its significance?

What's left of the meteorite that made up the idol Hubal's head, Hubal being Ba'al. They had 360 pagan gods, 1 per day. They removed 359 of them.

Hubal stayed.

The Arabs, as always, and ever, worship Ba'al and not Jehovah.

Muhammad destroyed ALL idols. Not one stayed. The worship of Hubal was controlled by the Quraysh, and when the Quraysh and Muhammad had fought in the Battle of Badr he destroyed the idol of Hubal along with the other 359 idols.

If he were to leave Hubal inside the Mecca it would give the Quraysh reasoning to again revolt and try to take back control of Mecca, which Muhmmad obviously did not want.

Also Ba'al is not even a pre-Islamic pagan god, he is a Judaic pagan god.

inside the box is a portal to hell powered by prayers to allah(satan)

It used to be Jerusalem. where Mohammed supposed "ascended to heaven". Then the Caliphates fell, the Crusader States came and went, and the Ottomas took over. So the Arab fucking shits decided to make Mecca important .

The meteorite is on the exterior wall though, so the inside is empty.

It's an altar to Moloch that only ranking members of the crypto-Jewish al Saud clan are allowed to see. Pretty basic stuff, OP.

it's a major tourist attraction, user

inside looks like a bathroom with some pottery.

To answer OP's question: Muslims believe the Kaaba was built by Abraham, which is not true. The Kaaba was used to store various idols of pagan gods, until Mohammed the false prophet (piss be upon him) got rid of them and made "Allah" the only god. Allah originally had 3 daughters, al-Lat, al-Uzza and Manat. see: bible.ca/islam/islam-allahs-daughters.htm

Islam is a satanic crypto-pagan religion. The devil's second counterfeit in order to suppress the truth of Biblical Christianity.

>that glorious feel when you realize that no matter how shitty your life may get, you will never be as crazy as

Wrong, it's because the allspark is there.

>being jealous that someone has done his homework and understands the subject more than you do

>not even know the very basics of one of the world's 2 biggest religions.

You have no idea about Islam at all. A good site to read for you may be Answering Islam. These are a series of articles from a Christian perspective about why Islam is wrong. Even they don't make the retarded claims you do. I even read it because while I don't agree with them that Christianity is any better, at least they have the decency to partake in debate, do their research on Islam, and remain pretty fair in their analysis.

Go read them and their articles rather than this Chick tract level retardation.

There is also an Answering Christianity done by muslims.

Both of these sites are complete garbage

How insane is the property value of those buildings that have a view of the box?

Inside that is a meteor
