>implying

The same reason philosophy, literature, most scientific achievement, and general living standards were crappy.

Abysmal literacy, combined with the annihilation of Roman infrastructure and thousands of years of knowledge, rampant tribalism, and a convoluted political system which stymied innovation and guaranteed pointless conflict.

banners look autistic

more shit pictures

>the annihilation of Roman infrastructure and thousands of years of knowledge
this part of this comment is the bait

>What were the Goths

>muh realism

This is the worst possible example you could've used. The Goths were total Romaboos, maybe only surpassed by the Franks.

realism doesn't matter if the art looks like a retarded picasso painting

Can we please stop the "medieval art is bad" meme

>1376
1376 isn't medieval, it's early modern

Try again Chirstcuck

tbqh italian and greek art wasn't that bad

Banners of the nobilities of Orleans and other cities near it

Holy shit they gave him such a smug face.

a well crafted sassenach trinket

This is pretty good. I like learning about the transition from classsical art to medieval art.

I drew shit like this in elementary school.

Medieval logical philosophy was quite advanced tbqh

That's a tapestry retard. Those images were knitted.

>1376 isn't medieval, it's early modern
We're at 11th dimension levels of wrong here.

Jews

According to the Kardashev scale it was more developed than ancient times but yeah too bad the quality of art dropped so significantly.

>autism
>bad thing

Paintings were bad because all the money was in architecture and sculpture. Pic related is from an 11th century french church.

wow

infrastructure is more than roads

>Some people on this board do not think that the medieval period was a regression from the classical period

>1376 isn't medieval, it's early modern
>1376 early modern
the modern period is 641 years old you heard it here first.
I'll give you that 1376 is the end of the high medieval period but it's roughly 520 years earlier then the modern period

>1376 isn't medieval, it's early modern
Are you feeling alright, user?

Yeah, it's weird. Let's say art is subjective. But the medieval period didn't produce an Elements, an Almagest or a On Floating Bodies either.

Similarly much of the technological improvement came from appropriating outside sources.

It was only towards the late Middle Ages that Europe, and its Western part at that, started operating on a similar level, only until early modern times when it was being surpassed.

Nice video.

what does that matter?

You point being?

My grandmother can (and has) knit more impressive art.

You're being selective just to prove your point.

plz

>bayeux tapestry
>a tapestry
Kek, bet you think it made in bayeux too.

This is true if and only if you use the Islamic calendar.

>beautiful trees
