Royal Navy

>Royal Navy
>Royal Air Force
>British Army

The Navy has always been a single, national organisation. To defend his realm, Alfred the Great founded the English navy as a large but single unit. For his land forces, he relied on a number of armies supplied by the shires. thus, although not titled as such, the navy was truly 'Royal'. This pattern continued for centuries. The nobles had their own armies which were expected to rally round the sovereign in times of crisis. Indeed, the term 'The Army' did not come into use until the middle of the 17th century, by which time the Royal Navy had been established on a permanent basis for many years.

>scum of the earth

>Royal Marines Commando

Never understood this

>Fancy names

>Armeé de Terre
>Armée de l'Air
>Marine Nationale

The commandoes (specifically, the 3rd Commando Brigade) are the members of the light infantry brigade of the royal marines.
Every royal marine commando is a royal marine, but not all royal marines are commandoes.

Reminder that the current british army is the descendant of the parliamentary army that defeated the royal army during the civil war.

Ejército de Tierra.
Ejército del Aire.

Not that hard you tea slurping nerds.

>Airforce (air)
>Army (land)
>Navy (water)
>Marines (water?)

Never really understood why burgers chose that name for their shock troops.

>not going for even more simple approach of landforce (army), airforce, and seaforce (navy)

>Unironically having NO history

Bceause historically Marines were deployed to wherever through Navy ships.

They just used to be naval infantry at the beginning. Also, they aren't shock troops. It's not an actual concept anymore. They're just a second army with different legal obligations and requirements for deployment.

Stay mad, bongs

>Heer
>Marine
>Luftwaffe
German efficiency

The army was the core of the organisation that fought against the monarchy in the Civil Wars of the 1600s. The Navy and RAF were founded under the auspices of the monarchy in the 20th century.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Royal Navy happens under Charles II
Airforce happens in WW1
But yes British army is the new model army once more

Stay mad people I share more blood with than other 'white' people of my proud nation

It's almost like the British Army is based on a different system than the navy (and then air force). As if they were following some kind of New Model or something...
