Atheism. Is it nihilism or not?

Shut up you dumb faggot. Protestantism isn't reducible to atheism anymore than monogamy is to celibacy. Generally speaking Protestants are even more religious than Catholics.

Kaku's greatest sin is pushing bullshit string theory after all these years. I'm not even sure if he's atheist, Neil Degrasse Tyson is just stemsperg agnostic that dislikes philosophy and theology.

Protestants have a far higher deconversion rate than Catholics.

It's hyper-materialism

Oh yeah those evangelicals are a thing in America. It's the Mainlines that turn atheist.

what. your post is crap. why not just define the terms instead of say a bunch of wrong shit? even if you just google the definitions. it is the opposite, atheism can fit underneath the umbrella of nihilism but not vice-versa. kant's writings don't contradict nihilism, nietzsche's existentialist rants do. pessimism, atheism, much of postmodernism, and moral relativism do not contradict nihilism.

you must be the same guy because you're also saying retarded shit that's the opposite of correct. logical positivism is the polar opposite of denying metaphysical claims, and is a metaphysical claim within itself.

>Both the mainline and historically black Protestant traditions have lost more members than they have gained through religious switching, but within Christianity the greatest net losses, by far, have been experienced by Catholics. Nearly one-third of American adults (31.7%) say they were raised Catholic. Among that group, fully 41% no longer identify with Catholicism. This means that 12.9% of American adults are former Catholics, while just 2% of U.S. adults have converted to Catholicism from another religious tradition. No other religious group in the survey has such a lopsided ratio of losses to gains.

>Kantian ethics don't contradict nihilism
>Literally states morality is absolute and universally applicable to all humans, who must be treated as ends in themselves

Okay faggot.
Oh, and you also point out logical positivism was self-contradictory. Damn son, you figured it out... somebody give this retard a medal.

>moral relativism doesn't contradict nihilism

Yes it does, since it's a form of moral realism, just not morally universalist. Saying morality is relative to culture makes no sense for a nihilist who claims morals to be universally false (error theory) or simply a prescriptive statement dressed as description (noncognitivism). You lack a distinction between normative ethics and meta-ethics. Absolutism and relativism are both subsets of moral realism, differing only in scope.

Making any metaphysical claim is autistic though.
