It has its similarities, but it was during an extremely centralized market in a small (albeit very powerful at the time) European country.
If we take BTC as the 'crypto index' of this market (which is a proxy of the NASDAQ/tech mkt) we have a 200% increase in just two quarters. Profits had to be taken, and the prices had to retrace back.
And thankfully so, the bears need to thin the herd before it runs off the cliff lol.
If anything, BTC is holding as quite the mature asset during the leg down. Too bad for the people that bought the tops, but it is a lifetime lesson.
