Yeah it did. Christanity destroyed the structure of islamic spain and if Islam spread into France an England as well as all the way across the states of Germany and Italy, the Byzantines would have come to their invaders too and Europe would finally Unite again.

Under Christanity, Europe was divided. Areas in Europe where Islam had taken over were more united than any kingdom of Europe had been in the course of History.

Which is exactly what Islamic Spain was! It theived on its diversity of North Africans, Arabs, Spaniards, Jews, Basque, and many other cultures all in one Peninsula. There was Relgious and Social Tolerance as well as Politcal Tolerance, christan Nobles kept their titles and Chruches as well as many other Christem monuments were allowed. Many cultures conglomerated wopith eachother in Islamic Spain, you could even argue that Spain was the farthest extent of the Silk Road! Spain for centuries would be renown for the marvelous craftmen it produced all because of the muslim presence that once inhabited this area.

If only the values in which Spain flourished were spread to the rest of Europe, Europe would be well ahead of its time as well as thenrest of the world by at least 300 years. The New World would have been Discovered by Spanish explores by at least early 1000s had Islam expanded in the same way it had through Spain into Europe
