Atheism in conduct and agnosticism in belief are the natural consequences of enlightenment and scientific thinking. Acting according to theism is a gamble with highly improbable odds, since the system of belief one acts according to may or may not be real.

Because its a philosophy based fundamentally on lies, lies that have in one form or another poisoned politics in the West for the last several centuries.

The first lie is the lie that society is "perfectable" through social engineering and education alone. In short, that through the right manipulations, a leadership caste can form the masses into whatever shape they desire, in short that society is a clay that can be readily shifted at the slightest provocation.

The second lie, related to the first, is the lie of tabula rasa. The lie that everyone starts off equivalent and the mind is a blank slate. The more we learn about genetics the more we learn just how utterly absurd this lie is.

And the third lie, and the most potent lie, is the lie of equality. The lie that people are equal, which is single-handedly responsible for the sole sum and total of the insanity that governs our national relations, race relations, the relations between the sexes, and so on. People are not equal. They are not equal in ability. They are not equal in potential. They are not equal in status. They are not equal economically. Despite our chagrin to the contrary, they aren't even equal before the law, which continues [in ways both wrong and right] to treat men differently then women, blacks from whites, the rich from the poor, and so on. Its a complete and utter farce.

In short, what said. The Enlightenment Values are in many ways a 'rationalist' and idealistic revolt against empiricism in society and government.

The leftist NEEDS an evil National Socialist as an antagonist since Marxism was essentially a brutal failure- he needs someone to make the USSR look good so he can prop up his beliefs. If the Nazis are exonerated in any way, then the Soviets lose "good guy" status and are relegated to what they really were- expansionist conquerers. If the holocaust was even a fraction if what it is reported to be, then holodomor takes place as the most prevalent genocide.

A centrist isn't so invested in usingthe Nazis as a distraction since he has nothing to distract from.

Stalin actually stopped the bloodshed that Lenin and Trotsky began. That's why he is so hated, according to the enlightenment values of Trotsky, dekulakization should not have stopped until every Russian peasant was dead. Urban labour should have been militarized until every Russian worker was a slave.

I also don't really like Luxembourg all that much either- I'm not particularly affiliated with one past revolution or revolutionary leader. I look more towards the ongoing struggles in Chiapas and Rojava for my inspiration, and I apply Marxist analysis to historical circumstances. That's what I mean by Libertarian Marxist.

As a Marxist, you should understand that peasant insurrections against the development of private property are reactionary by nature.

Of course they can be used by a communist political movement to reach power, but then it looks like the real, existing communist regimes that you clain to hate.

It's no surprise that a community of insulated, middle class, white young men should take up reactionary thought, racism and the like to justify their place in the world and seek to hold onto it. They imagine a rosy past where non-whites, the poor and women knew their place. The same people who say non-whites are less smart are the same people who think they're born to rule over the dumb proles.
