Vexillology thread

Post flags that you've made, flags that interest you, content requests, whatever you like pertaining to flags.

I'll start us off with this flag I made a few days ago. It is the Tajik flag modified into a cross. It symbolizes my religion and my people (Tāj means crown in Persian, hence the crown). Looks pretty sleek too, I'd wear it into battle desu.
>tfw you will never lead the central Asian simultaneous forced conversion to Christendom and renaissance of Aryan Persian heritage/Persian reconquista from Semitic Islamic/Arabic culture

The current Tajiki flag already has Zoroastrian symbology in it. The three things on the crown are three holy Fires. The long thingy is the Chinvat bridge. The seven stars are seven Amesha Spentas.

The presidential standard literally has Derafsh-e Kaviani on it.

OTOH to be honest, while Zardosht originated in Central Asia, the current Tajik lands were always outside of the main Persian civilisation and only started speaking Persian after the Islamic conquest.

I know, are you implying that the flag can't be Christian?
Yes that is Zoroastrian symbolism but what it really is representing is our history and not necessarily the religion itself. Why would Tajikistan use that symbol if it didn't plan to at least attempt a revival of Zoroastrianism?

And I'm fairly certain Tajikistan was always a part of Persia. Could you sauce me on that please? Thanks

>I know, are you implying that the flag can't be Christian?
Nah, I just wasn't sure how common is that knowledge. Allegedly it was supposed to be hidden in plain sight.
>And I'm fairly certain Tajikistan was always a part of Persia.
It was a part of Persia at times, and even then it was a periphery. It had its own culture though.

Bactria and Sogdiana were conquered by the Achaemenids, but Sogdiana broke off during the crisis and was independent during Alexander's conquest. In Parthian times majority of modern Tajikistan belonged to the Kushans. Then during Sassanid times it was ruled by the Hephtalites.
Same with Samarqand and Bukhara which were culturally a part of this North-Eastern Iranic circle and were at times independent, at times vassal states of the Persian empires.

The languages spoken were eastern Iranic, some of which survived to this day like Yaghnobi and Pamiri. You had Soghdian, Khotanese further east, Khwaresmian in the west, etc. Persian/Dari was introduced after the Islamic conquest, and became dominant when the "Persian revival" of the Xth century was centered in the eastern lands further from the Caliph in Baghdad, where various emirs (Tahirids, Saffarids, Samanids) were more free to engage in un-Islamic culture.

As for sources I rely on the old Soviet books, Bobojan Gafurov and Sergey Tolstov.

Not sure if this an "official" flag for the kingdom of france or bourbon dynasty, but I really like this particular flag.

>Coat of arms big enough to see small details
>Good symbolism, with angels supporting the CoA presumably being divine right of kings
>Background isn't a shitty tricolor

Flag I made for a Nakh Republic (Chechnya + Ingushetia)

Alternate flag of PRC including the Yellow River Mao initially wanted

...and some meme design, the meaning of which should be pretty obvious

That is actually way better

Flags for Lithuania if they were not autistic Africans

...

...

why not just ye olde chase flag?

...

...

...

I can't decide if it looks better or if it's too cluttered. Mao initially wanted pic related without the extra stars, which I personally think looks shit. The other one I posted is obviously a combination of this and the current PRC flag.

Second from top on the right is the best by far, only possible contender is top right.

Not such a fan of those tbqh. They should've just gone back with their knight flag, but I can see why they chose to bring back their tricolor.

...

Far better Australia flag, although I'd like some black/red in there somewhere to represent the aborigines.

t. loony lefty

This is admittedly a reddit design, but it looks fash as fuck.

Fash as in fashionable or fascist?
It's both, by the way.
If I have to applaud fascists for one thing it's flag design.

>It's both, by the way.
Agreed.

Far better than this piece of shit.

The GOAT

>le cartoon villains face
Here's best tricolour to save the thread

Flag of UK if Northern Ireland leaves, though it'd probably go back to being the Kingdom of Great Britain if that happens. Not sure how I feel about this design.

Remember when troll face was the Pepe of its era?

t. subhuman

That is actually a sick flag m8

Don't be a newfag, it's one era of retarded drawings started by trollface it's the same shit

those are probably more autistic than the one they have now

Looks like the old Chinese one
Also, the hammer and sickle are fucking disgusting and should never be used with the double headed eagle and crosses, i mean you could have slapped a star and it wouldn't look that disgusting, bring back st George.

kek tajiks are literally mongoloids larping that they're persian (they're not)

That's the flag of the North German Confederation/German Empire, you specialist
