Tether doesn't shoot up. The whole basis around it is that it stays stable at around 1 dollar. You can still get a good marginal jump from 1.04 to 1.50 for example but eh.

The only reason why Tether works is because of people doing arbitrage and withdrawing to their bank accounts. You don't have to do it yourself, it's merely enough that others do it. There's also Bit-USD
