Meme upon meme.

What show

Man in the High Castle

Looks fun. It's any good?

Nazis like to overcompensate

Close to zero percent, even setting aside the ridiculousness of the Nazis successfully invading the USA. The use of the swastika was exclusive to the German NASDAP, other fascist regimes had their own iconography and certainly in America the symbol of choice would be the eagle. Handing over half the continent to the Japs is also beyond ridiculous, yes the Nazis quite liked and somewhat respected the Japanese but there's no way they'd give over "white" land to non-whites, and this is even ignoring the impossibility of Japan fully occupying and governing all of China AND India on top of trying to rule half of America, a country with more guns than people.

Yes. It's pretty good.

It's a bit cartoony and silly in how it approaches it but it's an enjoyable show and book. I personally don't think the US would have been divided at the end of the war with an axis victory but rather become a fascist puppet state but still seems decent. The drained Mediterranean is the stupidest crap though, I fucking hate seeing that on alternate history stuff.

>how accurate is this show to history that didn't fucking happen
HMMMMMMM HARD TO SAY OP

Wait, the Nazis drain the Mediterranean in this fiction?

>drained Mediterranean

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantropa

Yes, the Mediterranean is drained and Africa is a giant Apartheid slave colony to Germany. Also they haven't mentioned Franco or Mussolini yet because you'd think they would still have their colonies and territory.

It's something Mussolini once said, but he probably wasn't serious and in any event it would be close to impossible to pull it off, AND a waste of time since the "new land" you'd make would be too salty to use for anything, to say nothing of the devastation it would wreck on Europe's climate.

>but there's no way they'd give over "white" land to non-whites
You should read what Hitler said about Australia, buddo.

Not him but what did he say? I assumed the Japanese would have deported them to America or Europe and resettled the land.

Holy shit that's fucking nut

wtf i hate this show now

What he said and what he would do are completely unrelated concepts when it comes to Hitler. But even if he considered Australia to be naturally within Japan's sphere of influence, there's no way on Hell he'd consider the Americas to be.

The worst thing about the show is how it implies Germany and Japan were the only Axis powers.

Unfortunately, there is no reality in which Italy isn't retarded

Why do the Nazis call themselves Nazis? Nazi is derogatory and they never used that term

>Greater Nazi Reich
>Not Greater German Reich or Greater National Socialist Reich

That's how it was in real life

>The use of the swastika was exclusive to the German NASDAP
False
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_National_Socialist_Party#/media/File:Swede1-revision1.png

I really want this to happen. Imagine all the archeological finds.

To be fair the airport is called "George Lincoln Rockwell Airport" so you can infer he was in power and he did call his party the "American Nazi Party."

>That's how it was in real life

In Germany yes, other fascist regimes used their own symbolism because one of the core tenants of fascist is "ultranationalism", not something you can cultivate using foreign symbols.

Please give me the dates during which Sweden was a fascist state.

...

Whether they ruled or not is irrelevant
You claimed the swastika was exclusive to the German nazi party, which is false

The basic premise of "Germany and Japan are now in a Cold War with each other" is believable enough.

The details are bizarre though.

It's very fun.

>drained mediterranean farmland
Sound like they've got some nazi super crops that thrive in salt deserts.

>HURR

Obviously I was talking about fascist regimes, I of course know that there are nazi movements outside of Germany. Had America become a fascist state, it would not have used the swastika, just as none of the nations the Nazis established as fascist clients used the swastika.

I mean you can't expect much realism from a show whose plot is predicated on the concept that people can will themselves into other dimensions.

the imagination is only so powerful.
