Are their structural differences between Islam and Christianity

which makes Islam harder to reform or reinterpret

which makes it more violent today?

what are these structural differences?

It was always worse than Christianity in princeable.

Islam is hard to reform because most of the middle east is both poor and a geopolitical nightmare

You got it wrong. Islam is easier to reinterpret because it's not just the Quran, there are also Hadiths. Basically there are reports that people can choose to believe or not. Violent Islamics choose to believe in the most violent Hadiths.
It also doesn't help that the last written chapter of the Quran is the most violent. The reverse is true for the Bible, with the New Testament being way less bloodthirsty.

Muslim prophet: kill unbelievers
Christian prophet: turn the other cheek

That's what it all comes down to. Islam is violent in its core beliefs, Christianity opposes violence in its core beliefs.

its important to remember that the central figure in christianity was pretty much the ancient precursor to a hippie

while Islam's founder was a literal warlord

This

now people will respond about "well what about the crusades, or the inqusition blah blah blah"

while its true that Christianity has a history of violence, it is not an aim of Christianity like it is in Islam

>which makes Islam harder to reform or reinterpret

It is not harder to reinterpret Islam than to reinterpret Christianity, considering how many Muslim sects there are

>which makes it more violent today?

Christians are definitely more violent than Muslims, considering how many innocent people have been killed by Christian-majority countries in recent years.

Jesus is a Muslim prophet as well, retard. Trying to explain the difference between Islam and Christianity by comparing Muhammed with Jesus is extremely stupid, considering that Muslims do not think that one prophet is superior to another.

The most obvious is the genetic structure.

Middle easterners have an average IQ of only 85, and that's after trillions of dollars of oil wealth has been pumped into their countries.

White countries have an average IQ of about 100, one standard deviation higher than middle eastern countries. Even poorer white countries like Ukraine still have average IQs in the 90s.

Muslims believe Muhammed is the most perfect human being to have ever existed, so by definition they must think Muhammed is superior to Jesus. Besides that, it is explicitly part of their beliefs that earlier prophets were somewhat wrong on the word of God and that Muhammed came with the final and perfect word of God, so where Jesus and Muhammed disagree, Muhammed is right.

All religions, philosophies, and ideologies are locked in a red queen's race to describe something unbound and regresses into infinity in every direction
The differences between the two are almost exclusively material:

1. Climate Change is hitting the poorest regions of the world hardest, and this is driving ever larger numbers of rural Arabs off their farms and into urban poverty
2. Western Colonialism is alive and well, with political leaders more loyal to their western backers than they are to their constituents.
3. They made a deal with the devil by mixing politics with religion, and it's having the exact same effect on their society that it had when the Christians experimented with it in the early modern era.

Reform will come when western countries are no longer dependent on MENA despots keeping the oil flowing into western gas tanks, and pull financial support. Until then, you're going to have theocrats sponsoring terrorism around the world.

Killing that happens to be done by nominal Christians ≠ killings motivated by Islam itself

Not to mention that the crusades were in response to Islamic violence

Islam is religion that focuses on the righteousness of justice in this life whereas Christianity focuses of simply turning the other cheek and letting God deal out justice after death. .

When the Islamic world is in such a poor state is it any surprise that people seek justice in whatever misguided way they can?

Islam itself is a contradiction and its eschewing of schools of thought and learning, as well as a traditional priesthood have made it what it is.

>its eschewing of schools of thought and learning,
I should clarify this. What I mean is that it doesn't have a scholarly consensus or tradition in the vein of Judiasm with its Rabbinic schools, or Christianity with its seminaries or enforced denominational doctrines.

>Muslims believe Muhammed is the most perfect human being to have ever existed

No they don't you fucking imbicile. Muslims believe that no human being is flawless, they just think that he is a good example for people to follow, just like Jesus.

>Besides that, it is explicitly part of their beliefs that earlier prophets were somewhat wrong on the word of God and that Muhammed came with the final and perfect word of God, so where Jesus and Muhammed disagree, Muhammed is right.

What? No, Muslims believe that earlier prophets were right about everything and said nothing that contradicts what Muhammed preached. However, they believe that some of the followers of these prophets have corrupted their teachings, which is why Allah has sent the final prophet whose teachings would be impossible to change, Muhammed. You clearly know nothing about Islam. Even ISIS has made making a statement such as "Muhammed is superior to Jesus" a criminal offense and is beheading anyone who insults Jesus.

>princeable
You have to be a 18 to post here

Islam is an abstract concept you fucking mongoloid, it cannot kill anyone. Only its nominal followers can kill people.

how do you fuck up a word this badly in the age of spellcheck and the internet? Even if you spelled principal instead of principle it would have been alright, but princeable? Jesus, fuck off back to school.

I cannot tell whether this post is sarcastic or not. Has irony gone too far?

Islam is a religion of works

Its most advantageous work is killing non-beleivers

bump

Shakir: And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.

>HURR

OBVIOUSLY we know that you complete fucking imbecile. Now explain how "murder is only a word, it can't kill anyone!!11!!¬"

Fucking mental pygmy.

>which makes it violent today
Well, there was this little country called Afghanistan. It was a small, Communist country and despite its small economy its citizens had a relatively high standard of living.
But there was a rich Saudi guy who loved capitalism and fundamentalism called Osama bin Laden. He hated Communists, so the U.S. gave him weapons to fight the Afghan government. Under constant attack in cities, the USSR invaded Afghanistan to keep the fringe fundamentalist group away with helicopters.
So the U.S. gave them surface to air missiles, and the Saudi rich kid won. To celebrate, he stripped women of their rights and, years later, he flew two planes into the twin towers.
The violence is purely political. Indigenous middle easterners (besides the Saudis, who just struck a $300 billion deal with the U.S.) hate the U.S. for ruining their countries. There were no (suprise) radical leftist movements in most of the middle east anymore, so the only outlet available for hatred is fundamentalism.
This is all excluding Iran, though, who was taken over by fundamentalists after a there was a nation wide revolt against a U.S. backed dictator and the left failed to gain wide support or use militancy. The Iranian Ayatollah also popularized the idea of suicide bombing (the Quran says that suicide is a big no no) when in the Iran-Iraq war they told a bunch of horny teenage boys to walk over minefields for heaven sex (even though that passage about 72 virgins often gets translated as 72 grapes in reformed Islam). The justification was that it was just like Ashura (a shia holiday where some people ritualisticly harm themselves, the scale goes 1 to 10 by the individual, in celebration and to emulate the pain of their founder and true successor to Mohammed, Ali ibn Abi Talib, who wasn't recognized as the true successor).
Eventually sunnis started suicide bombing with no religious justification at all, so go figure. Religion is just the talisman for ideology.

The conquest and Christianization of the new world and Africa says otherwise.

There are no commandments to kill, unlike islam where jihad is the centerpiece which all muslims should aspire to

Atheist love talking about the need for Islam to reform like Christianity did back in the 1400,1500's. But that is a extremely problematic in that the situations are more or less reversed. In the 1400's the Roman Catholic's had a near universal hold on the "one true church". The reasons for that were largely political. At that time the Church like during the past 800 years was extremely corrupt.

In essence the Reformation lead a charge back to the authority of Scripture, and away from the authority of Rome/Pope. The Reformation was a return to the Bible.

The opposite is with Islam. You would not want a Reformation back to the authority of the Koran. My idea is that an Islamic Reformation could only result in a more literal rendering of Koran, which would be more devastating and violent. Prominent Atheists should not want an a reformation. At this point they need some kind of Liberalization towards Secularism, which will never happen.

They should just remove the violent parts, like they did with the satanic verses

The biggest problem also, is that according to the Koran, there is only one sure way to heaven. Only one guaranteed way, and that is to die in jihad against an enemy. The other ways according to Islamic theology do not guarantee an entrance into heaven.
