Regardless, there are so many different variants of socialism and communism that posts like this accomplish nothing. People yelling "communism sucks" or "capitalism sucks" without discussing specific issues and how each would approach that issue is pointless. Whats more is that each individual's idea of an ideal government needs to be laid out. The checks and balances for each scenario need to laid out. So unless you are willing to go through a detailed discussion of a government model there is no point to the ideological battle of communism vs capitalism. The arguement will always devolve into "authoritarian, murdering, freedom-hating, white guilt having, never worked, jews" and "classist, racist, sexist, ignoring capitalist history, "muh trickle down," socially and economically darwinian, inhumane jews"

Instead of being blinded by the failures of that regime they theoretically change it so that sort of thing could not happen. Most experiments fail more often then they succeed, its human ingenuity and curiosity that stops us from giving up. Also do not forget that the people who lived through those regimes are just people like you and me. In case you haven't noticed most people in this world are oblivious dumb shits until a tragedy occurs, then all of a sudden they are experts on the subject. I will take an objective historical analysis over some villagers opinion on what was happening.
