At what age did you guys finally turn your life around?

At what age did you guys finally turn your life around?

I'm trying to get my shit together, but fucking hell its hard to do that when you're alone. I've been working in the same shit restaurant for almost 5 fucking years and I'm sick of it. I've tried to get a more "respectable" job as a receptionist or some kind of office job, but I'm just not qualified. I do have some college experience, but I dropped out last semester. I'm going back to community college and trying to do better in my classes.

I'm only 23 so I guess I still have time. I'm going to also try and join some groups while in college, but I feel like it will be strange join groups filled with people from the ages of 17-19.

Am I over thinking this shit or what?

Put everything in crypto and hope for the best.

Yes you are overthinking this shit! Go and get some qualifications, who care whether there are 17-19 year Olds? You are doing this for your future and your future self will be very thankful. Besides that you are still 23 so it's not too late! Regarding your initial question, career wise I've always known what I wanted to do (It). But regarding getting shit together, don't know if anybody ever does, whether with 30 or 40 or 50.

You're not overthinking it, it is that fucked. The board's going to tell you there's a thousand more qualified guys that got MBAs and you're a failure. Ignore the shit.

30 years ago you wouldn't have been in this place. A high school diploma would've been enough to enter & start training in skilled labor, with a decent living wage. It's not the same world anymore, but technical "skills" have infinitely more clout than a bachelor's does these days. Suck it up, find a trade you don't entirely hate, and get back to the "I need a ladder-climber desk job" after you're financially independent enough to weather the storm.

25. I started school, dropped out, and now I work in IT for 84k a year at 29

20, I stopped partying as much

I hung out with a lot of people that were 4-5 years older than me when I was 18-19, so don't worry about that

Learn ASP.NET/C# and you can find a code monkey job somewhere

Post more of the girl though, where'd you get this

Thank you for the advice!

How did you get a job in IT if your dripped out?

>ASP.NET/C#
I look into that. And sorry thats the only pic I have of her. Heres a pic of some Asian bish drinking beer.

Tried college straight out of high school, decided it wasn't for me and dropped out. Instead, went to go play with the military for 4 years. Got tired of getting shot at by sand-chimps, decided to take my chances in the private sector. Stuck in a dead end 3rd shift job for 5 years.

Finally got sick and tired of being sick and tired. Was 29 when I went back to college. Bunch of children running between classes with fidget spinners and hoverboards, larping about "muh white oppresshun." Get my law baccalaureate next year.

Doesn't matter how often you fall so long as you keep picking yourself back up.

15

gotta keep fighting bro

>college experience
my fucking sides user, thx for the laugh

I did it when I'm 38.
It's never too late. I don't regret fucking up my younger days, I had a shit-ton of fun.
Feels good to be stable now though.

Cont.
Got my bachelor in June, got a well payed job now while taking my masters in health science.
I work nights now in a child care institution. Pays well, and all i to is shitpost and trade alt-coins all night.

Hang in there.. I was in college for 8 years. 8... and I have a bachelors. Psych major for 3, MIS for the rest. Lots of coke and debt but came out OK.

Interned. Self study.

OP, I typed a massive wall of text on my life journey and how I've changed things around and made a positive change by myself. Then I remembered that I have several friends browsing this board and am not interested to share such intricate details about my life.

All I can tell you is that if there was one thing that drastically improved my life, was lifting.

Seriously, lift weights. This was detrimental to improve my confidence and make more willing to take risks and pursue more fruitful endeavors.

Good luck, OP;

i have no qualification i'm a 24 men.
Winning 4k eur minimum every month being a waiter 12h a day

24 years old* sorry

>This was detrimental to improve my confidence

It certainly didn't impede your vocabulation

I was tired to double check my writing after deleting over 2.000 characters of text.

>Lots of coke
degenerate

> but I feel like it will be strange join groups filled with people from the ages of 17-19

Nah man, it'll be fine.
I graduated from a university a month ago. We had a guy with us who was 23 when he enrolled (in the same year as me). He's a pretty chill dude and nobody cared if he was couple of years older.

Want to go back to school but I fucked up so hard I can't get into any of the programs I'm interested in.

I'll +1 this. Getting my body in order has greatly increased my mental acuity. I'm generally happier and healthier, and the discipline required can be focused onto other things.

Your body is your temple. Sweep the fucking floors.

Yeah seriously OP, stay in shape or do something that will keep you physically active. Probably one of the most important choices you have to make for yourself in this day and age.

At 26, I went from not having enough to pay for a fucking bus to get to my shit job to land a decent job that not only paid my bills but also allowed me to buy random shit I wanted and also have a savings account.
It's fucking hard user, just don't give up and also never settle. There's a shitload of money on the street waiting for you to take it

My uncle didn't graduate until he was 32. Now he makes 100k a year as a whore in doing really good for people.

>I'm only 23
Motherfucker that is not "only". You need to make moves NOW.

A wealthy man once said, "The more you learn, the more you earn desu."

These words are true, start reading book, start working out! You are in control... I would make a life-improvement thread on /pol/, they'll help you out. If you feel too old to start extra circular in college, then you shouldn't really even be in college.... it's better late than never when it comes to life improvement, OP, you either are going to improve your life, or you won't at all, and the sooner you get started, the more progress you'll make.

>MIS

Hey nice man, me too

dumbfuck, just take a little time and study web development and programming online (FREE), its really retartedly simple. SRS

>ASP.NET
GIT FUCKED
I always hate when I have to do something in our projects with that language.
The syntax is so fucking horrendous.

I need a name for this chick op

Now

sauce on azn?

>lifting was detrimental to improve your confidence
Did you have a stroke

The laughter I got from that gave me a near death experience. I ironically now know how to change my life thanks to your post

I'm 29 and my life is a mess.

Got a Graphic design degree, went backpacking for six months, then taught English in Thailand for two years. Then I returned home to a fucked job market. I'm not as good at Graphic Design as I need to be to get a full time job in it and I didn't want to settle for some shitty print job making shitty T-Shirts. I'm a deputy manager in a warehouse with good money for the area. I can afford a nice studio apartment and all the tech I desire but i'm bored out of my mind. All the people i work with have no vision beyond the weekend.

I've been thinking of doing some sort of humanitarian work in a conflict zone for the experience, but I'm probably too much of a pussy to follow through with it.

sauce nigga

23?!

Jesus Christ you re a little kid,

anyone who tells you 23 is old is a fuckin dumb ass

Office jobs are overrated. Go manage a restaurant

You ain't going to like my answer, but I endured decades of fear, pain and hard work before turning my life around a few years ago. I'm 64. In this world you either have to be lucky or endlessly patient (like me) or neck yourself. But it gets even worse! It seems like 15 minutes ago I was 25 years old. Seriously. That means that 15 minutes from now you'll be my age.

25
finally buckled down and found a hands on program that'll bring me to money with co-op as well
found a gf after opening up and actually working on socializing for a year
and im roofing for the summer to make good money
work hard and work smart, dont stagnate

23 is when I started university lol

God damnit this fucking board pisses me off. I'm trying not to fap to porn and OP pic made me spiral into it again.

For the love of god, can we please get some fucking mods in here.

I love that pic but damn man I gotta stop fapping to porn.

me too I FUCKING HATE PORN! I'm fucking pissed! Sad!

damn 64 years old and still posting on Veeky Forums? Respect

I'm browsing this at work too and I've been contemplating going to find a bathroom to whack 1 out to this all day. I have to scroll by quickly when I pass it too so nobody sees.

If you're doing Nofap then you probably shouldn't be on Veeky Forums, buddy.

The stuff on here can make you break your no fap streak.

How old are you now? What did you end u majoring in?

i make 80k a year and i do this

>That means that 15 minutes from now you'll be my age.

Fuck you, leave me alone.

Ay yo listen here nigga, I just graduated with an AS in electrical engineering tech. I'm 29 B and I didn't give a fuck my man. Had these young bloods around me in class but they were air heads ya dig?
You're never too old to learn and accomplish things.

second this

At 33.
Got a good job, lost 60 kgs, got a girlfriend (now wife).
I go to the gym regularly and I'm buying a house.
My life used to be the typical NEET life though, I thought I would never escape it but I did. The key was the job.

>Bunch of children running between classes with fidget spinners and hoverboards, larping about "muh white oppresshun."

>At what age did you guys finally turn your life around?

>my life is a mess
>I can afford a nice studio apartment and all the tech I desire
my diagnosis is b8 and severe, permanent retardation
treatment: kill yourself

There's no way you're 64 years old. That's older than my dad.

25. Finished uni, got a job, started and finished an advanced master's degree, got gf. In 3 years.

>At what age did you guys finally turn your life around?

Age 20 when I dropped out of college and got my job.

Yes I know. I don't browse the other forums but I like biz. Sigh.

Learn sales, not bullshitting. Social skills will make you get better jobs aswell

Listen here , buddy.

How's about you don't fucking post this shit on a blue board.

Fucking faggot

30, Computer Science, got my BS and I'm currently doing graduate school. My school pays me to do go to graduate school, but the catch is that I have to teach an entry-level math class. Easy stuff

LMAO yoooooo wtf happened?
Damn son, no fap be changing your emotions.

This thread was incredibly motivational for me, lads. I'm 23 and lost in life. I'm glad that I know that I'm not the only one who is going through this.

We need more threads like this on here.

There are people 10 years older than you but in the same situation. You have a whole decade to fix your shit. Even if you worked some minwage job for that ten years you'd still be where they are but with an extra 50k in the bank. Being young is like life in easy mode. Just don't tell yourself that you have a lot of time to waste and then squander it—start now. I mean right this minute.

>24
>have a CS degree
>work from home managing codemonkeys making 70k

I fucking hate it so much. Staying home all day every day ALONE dealing with pajeets over the internet is miserable. I am so lonely, and I LIVE with my girlfriend. I feel like such a fucking loser, because I'm sitting here alone all summer wallowing in my own self-hatred.

The worst part of it is, I've had 20+ interviews at really cool tech companies(I live near a big tech hub), but they all want someone with more hands-on experience, and I've been MANAGING pajeets for a year, so they think I forgot to code, even though I was a Java developer from ages 20-22 for this same company.

I'm currently starting a personal project which is basically going to be a prediction-engine for crypto prices, I think if I put that on my resume and it uses enough flavor-of-the-month tech, it should get me a seat somewhere.
