Well, here is another interesting fact.
We all know how the arrival of the conquerors changed everything on the Inca empire, but not many know that there was a drastic change even in the physical geography of the empire
peruthisweek.com
Apparently, the Chimu people of the northern coast and their predecesors made massive sand ridges and covered with millions of mollusk shells, which protected the ridges from erosion for nearly 4700 years. But that changed after the arrival of the spanish, no one was in charge of maintenance anymore since many died and the rest were forced to live in spanish-style towns called "indian reductions".

A kancha, common in inca architecture. Kancha is a quechua term, usually refers to an enclosure housing 3 or more buildings placed around a central plaza. The kanchas were built for residential, administrative or religious purposes, several kancha could be grouped together to form blocks. Several important structures built by the incas were described as kanchas, like the inca temple Korikancha or Golden enclosure.
The kanchas are the natural response to the andean cultural system, since pre-inca times the core of the andean social organization has been the ayllu community, an extended family with a common ancestor working collectively in a territory of common property.
The compound wall served as a visible marker of the close-knit social unit.

I did the Inca Trail in Peru this year and it never ceased to amaze me how fit the Incas must have been to build such trails so high up in the mountains.
>yfw the Ahnenerbe went to Bolivia because they thought ancient aryans lived ther
>yfw the Chachapoyas built houses similar to those of the nordics
Thankfully they were QUECHUAD by the incans.
They used this secret little trick called chewing coca leafs with lime. Some still do.
This are the ruins of the Cusicancha palace, the place where Pachacuti was born.
I tried some, but with some form of volcanic ash instead of lime. It tastes pretty good if you get the combination right, but the ash burns your tongue if there's any direct contact.
Helped a lot with the altitude sickness.
One guy told me the lime activated the cocaine in the coca leafs. I hope that wasn't true.
Hypothetical reconstruction of Cusicancha
that's fucking brilliant
All over peru people built chachapoya-like houses, the colla people in the altiplano are well know for their round houses. Or the Wanka people in central peru, interestingly the incas lumped the chachapoyas and wankas together in the same province, they and the cañaris played an important role in the civil war against Atahualpa, the three subsequently sided with spaniards in the war against Manco Inca. It seems that the chachapoyas also had some cultural ties with the Cañaris, since the Spaniards mixed up them from time to time.
Pic related, is a wanka site
the wankas like the chachapoya built their towns on hilltops for defensive purposes

what do you mean by this
I would build such beautiful buildings
to house the chosen few
like an inca from peru
pre-inca terraces in the highlands of the yauyos province of the lima region
woah nice to see some still today
Holy shit. This is the exact same layout as my grandfather's household in Huancyo. I had no idea this type of house plan was pre-columbian in origin.
I want to go, and I live in Argentina. But I am afraid of head aches/fainting in over 4000 meters altitude land.
The chachapoyas were of fair skin you can see it in many tives in the region. It is always under fog so I think this had something to do with their skin tone.
light skin and eyes but different from europeans.
The village of Tupe is known because the natives still have their unique language the Jacaru and also for their clothes that haven't changed much in comparison of the rest of the peruvian andes.

Some attires are very similar to the ones of the inca nobility
...
The q'ero people of southern Peru have preserved many of their ancestral practices, even to this day they are visited by missionaries wanting to convert them.
Some call them the last incas, though probably in inca times they were just a tiny and unimportant ethnic group.
>tfw you will never be an Incan message relayer
Why even live
Raqchi, also known as the Temple of Wiracocha, seen in the bottom left.
The circular buildings weren't houses but storehouses or qullqa.
Unlike some other cultures in the andes, the Incas didn't make round houses.

There are writtings and books on the national library of Peru that are still unpublished on the internet. I wonder how do I get there?
that looks very pretty but the rocks would roll over after very little use
>ywn have roman-level details about pre-Columbian incan society

Incas were superior to europeans though.

Really cool pictures, thank you for posting
>have inca last name from my mother

IT'S NOT FAIR
I WAS GOING TO RESTORE THE INKARRI.

That said I have a cousin who has an actual incan last name from the Panaca (royal family). He has green eyes though lmao.
What? That doesn't make sense.
presumably some kind of wind-driven pump to draw the water up
Lmao even the Finnish were above the incas, the incas have no worth and the people here circlejerking are spics
>they are visited by missionaries wanting to convert them.
Why this is ever allowed

You are literally being conquered by muslim peasants and mesoamerican savages. We'll see how does this turn out.
>get on america 12000~ years after humans settle on Europe. Umm, try again sweetie.
The descendants of the last Inca king were proposed to be the kings of the united provinces of the south when latin america revolted. But the republicans, that held most of the power, didn't liked the idea of having a king.
>""conquered"" by Muslim savages
>he believes the shitskin cuck memes
Look I know you have your fantasies but let's face pol is filled with self hating shitfaces. Even if you think that's true you need help from the governments of host countries to take over anything you will always be peasants by soul and by the end of all this you'll be right back where you started in your shithole states filled with hatred amongst yourselves while we scavenge your women for leftovers kiddo :)

Try again subhuman.
Not even a chance buddy. Bronze age was on its initial phase on the Incan empire. Maybe you should read a bit about your superiors.
It doesn't even go before bc you were still in water loo caves while Europe was raping other nations and your inferior peoples women gave themselves to the superior BWC sonny.

Why did they have such high roof slopes? This angle is more commonly seen in snowy climates. Are the Andes particularly snowy?

Literally most of the battles against the Inca has been between natives and past-dominated cultures.
Try again.
>ooga booga me show piccharr
Nope, sweetie. Try type something relevant next time.
that thing is still in use to surrounding villages to this day
