Good question user.

Herodotus thought the world looked like pic related. As you can see, Ethiopia isn't even on it.
You may as well ask where Thule or Hyperborea is.

Ethiopia is on it.

Nevermind, I'm a retard.
But my point still stands, Herodotus said a lot of things we now know to be false.

If Europeans are white how come they came from Africa?

Like?

Diodorus also said it.

How is that at all comparable?

Well a guy said it, didn't he?

But there is actually corroborative evidence to go with the claims of said Greek historians. It's not a stretch.

Do we have any concrete idea of what Ethiopia is according to them? It's worth mentioning Herodotus and Diadorus corroborate Greece being the center of the world.
Ethiopia doesn't appear to have solidly defined geography, and appears to be a catch-all term for "territory not Libya or Egypt in Africa"
That's kind of a lot

>click bait.

when did Herodotus say that, I don't remember that at all

Look it up

>attacking the source
Herodotus was literally a hick compared to anybody in the modern area, why exactly should we take a yokel's account of history seriously?

Because he was there.

ok, what book and chapter?

>Herodotus was there
Where? Greece? Ethiopia? India?

Do your own research. It is there.

No, it's not there.

The time period, and likely visited the Nile region himself.

>likely
So he wasn't there, he was POSSIBLY there.
You are also possibly retarded.

I'm pretty sure given what we know about the word origin meaning "burnt face", the concept is similar to what we now call sub-saharan Africa. Ethiopia is the land of black people.

The pyramids existed already for a longer time than seperates us from the Romans when Herodotus made his claims.

>pretty sure
And modern scientists are pretty sure the genetics of the area haven't changed over time, so where's Herodotus' study?

you made the claim so you must back it up

>And modern scientists are pretty sure the genetics of the area haven't changed over time
You mean haven't changed over time from the mix of african ancestry and returning west asian ancestry they've been since early egypt? Doesn't that itself back up Herodetus, at least to a degree?

No, because it's commonly accepted that there were blacks in Egypt, it's not accepted that all or even the majority of Egyptians were full-blown sub-saharans.
Learn nuance.

The only studied Greek era mummies for some reason, and made that the "basis" of Egyptian DNA. Those were not Egyptians those were invaders. It is well documented that Egyptians came from the south following the flow of the Nile, it is even debatable whether or not they constituted a truly separate and distinct people from Nubians given they both originated in the same place nabta playa.

The fact that Greeks are framed as natives and Nubians as invaders tells you everything you need to know about the agenda that permeates the issue of ancient Egyptians.

You learn nuance. If they have some sub-saharan ancestry, then Herodotus's Ethiopian origin claim isn't too far fetched, it just lacks part of the story.

You don't have to be full blown sub-Saharan to be considered "black".

>make sweeping general claim about Egypt
>but if SOME of them are black then his claim about the origins of ALL Egyptians must be right!
Eh?

Listen mate I get that you're a burger but your one drop rule doesn't apply here.

>but if SOME of them are black then his claim about the origins of ALL Egyptians must be right!
Holy shit, you are severly dense. "Some of the egyptians" were not black. They pretty much all had a percentage of african ancestry from an originally mixed ancestor group. They may not have been as dark as the Nubians, but to modern eyes, they would be recognizable as lighter shade "black people".

I love how you speak with firsthand experience, care to share? Enlighten us?

what? You fucking retard did you even bother to look at something as simple as the Wikipedia page on it? The majority of DNA is unique to that corner of Africa.

Bump

Are Arabs and Indians considered black in Africa? I know they include some Melanesians as 'black brothers'

Where do they say that?

Mixes are common and the one drop rule dictates that they are considered black.

HOL UP, SO YOU BE SAYING WE WUZ KANGZ N SHEEIT?

The one drop rule was only used in parts of the American south. No one else in the world cares about it.

Weren't some Egyptian Pharaohs actually R1b redheads?

Im not asking your opinion, are Arabs and Indians considered blacks in Africa? just answer the question

>Are Arabs and Indians considered black in Africa?
Of course not. Calling Indians or Arabs Black is shallow and ignorant.
Mixes does not mean they are Black.

R1b is common in Africa. Pharaohs, particularly later ones would not be a good representation of the population at large.

There are black Arabs, and black Indians.

Because we wuz ?

But are arabs and Indians considered black?

Damn that Takatsu porn manga was great.

What does that have to do with the OPs question?

Because origin myths to explain the formation of different peoples is a part of human folklore.

I trust archaeogenetics over unreliable historical accounts.

I think you need to give up OP. Stop vicariously living through the history and peoples of East Africa. when it's most likely you're a black guy from Philadelphia.
And even stranger you're attributing Egyptian civilization to a people you're not ethnically related to.

Egyptian spans thousands of years, with many peoples ruling over it. So this may not be an either/or situation. Herodotus may have seen "dark-skinned and woolly-haired" Egyptians. This does not necessarily have to be at odds with the DNA evidence from the selected mummies from lived from 1400 B.C. to 400 A.D.

Herodotus is recorded to have actually traveled throughout Egypt, his description of the appearance of these people was based on his own observations.

Man, I hate this answer.

It's not that I care about Egyptians or East Africans, but I do care about historical accuracy. It is a huge disservice to the people of east Africa to misappropriate their history. I used to think that historical "whitewashing" was a myth perpetrated by paranoid Afro-centrics, but then I started doing my own research and found that it is true. It is absolutely disgusting and represents insecurity on the deepest level.

More evidence disagrees.

The we wuz kangz memev has been definitely debunked

Like?

No they wouldn't, they looked like modern day Israelis.

>I used to be a Trump supporter like you, but after doing my own research I'm now #mentallyhill

No those were previously Greek you idiot. We wuz has been debunked time and time again.

The we wuz KANGZ meme was retarded and should have never caught traction, but white that said the whitewashing of ancient Nile cultures is just as ridiculous if not more.

Wewuzers, show me a single evidence that the Egypt was ruled by niggers at any point that didn't include the 25th dynasty. It's literally just one dynasty out of 31.

What? Historical accuracy debunks the myth of negro entrance Egyptians. Look the facts have proven that the Egyptians were not black time and time again.

Egyptians and Nubians come from the same place, it is even debatable whether or not they were truly separate and distinct peoples. There is a ton of cultural evidence form circumcision to mummification which points to cultural continuity along the Nile.

Hah whitewashing. No

Egyptians are depicted as middle Eastern Semitic people. They would be considered white on a us census form.

No they didn't, Egyptians came from the north

New kingdom Pharos are not representative of Egyptian origins or populace at large. Was there a northern element, yes, but the ancient Egyptian culture and people clearly had their roots to the south.

That "study" was unscientific.

Then why do the Greeks say they came from the south.

>give me a single evidence
>doesn't give a single evidence
Also, I was talking solely about the ruling class. The plebeians and the slaves are little more than cattle, only the rulers matter.

Semites originated in Ethiopia. Most middle easterners from the southern portions of the Middle East like upper Egypt would be considered phenotypically "black" in the US. Remember "black" by us standards includes people like Mariah Carey, price, and Steph curry.

Ancient Egyptians themselves say they came from the south.

No look at the Zanzibar massacre that happened in the 60s

/pol/ BTFO once again.

...

No Semites originated from Levants, and no, they would still be considered Arabs

We don't know were from the South though, as they may have originated from the lands of Yemen. It's quite obvious that the Egyptians themselves saw themselves differently from both pure whites (Hittites) and blacks (Nubians). Since it's proven that Pharaoh's had more of a modern European genetics and had stuff like red head (Ramesses II) in particular we can most definitely conclude that they were, for the most part, Middle Eastern in ethnicity, maybe slightly darker, but still Indo-European and not Negroid.

So Arabs are considered black by Africans?

Semites originate in Canaan actually, that's where proto-Akkadians spread from. Semites didn't physically exist in Ethiopia pretty much until Arabs started pouring there with the spread of islam.

They tested the DNA man. It´s over. I´m sorry your ancestors were primitive apes and not the Egyptians, as you wanted.

Black people come in a variety of shades

I'm American so my ancestors were African and European, not that it matters.

Yes, they're not white, they're not black, they're brown middle easterners, what do you expect? now stop wewuzing

Yeah in America maybe where their ancestors got fucked by slave owners

And this is a Roman mosaic of Alexander the Great... He looks a little niggerish, don't you think? Kinda the same skin tone as the Egyptians are usually portrayed, isn't he? He has been described as anything but swarthy, also. So putting so much faith in ancient paintings isn't very wise.

>Semites didn't physically exist in Ethiopia pretty much until Arabs started pouring there with the spread of islam.
Wrong. Define "Semite" and try again. Also google Sabaean migrants.

They often times depicted themselves in the same shade as Nubians. The difference was akin to the difference between northern and southern Italians.

Habeshans are not Semitic and never were Semitic, neither were the Egyptians, cuckold.

Yeah, they definitely did.

...

He only gonna claim the greek civilisation, just like

...

...

LMAO black people are legit funny. I didn´t want this meme to end.

>royalty is in your DNA
How do you even do the mental leap from "we wuz 'gypshuns" to "we wuz kangs"? Like I have German ancestry but I don't claim to be the direct descendant of kaiser Wilhelm.

It's funny how some "DNA" evidence is taken as gospel, while other DNA evidence is dismissed as invalid.

WE WUZ EUROPEANS

I like that every single Egyptian was a KANG or a KWEEN. In their society there were no artisans, peasants, priests... There were only KANGZ wearing golden chains singing rap and drinking grape juice all day.
