Princess Mononoke

Saving Private Ryan
>Cliche answer, but very well done

War Horse
>Great view of many sides of Great War

Goodbye Lenin
>Shows in great detail with immaculate storytelling the story of German reunification after the war

You just listed my favorite movies odd.

Fetih 1453

...

Generally anything that autistically focuses on technical details will be more Veeky Forums related that films that serve as emotional propaganda or are trying to be "artistic". So Das Boot or Black Hawk Down >>> Come and See and Apocalypse Now.

master & commander

Everything related to LOGH.

Not a movie but it's a must see.

Kinda a boring film. Just couldn't get it.

>Kinda a boring film. Just couldn't get it.

Woman detected.

Leave.

how historically accurate is Grave of the fireflies?

...

More accurate than Kingdom of Heaven, at least.

Pan's labyrinth.
Sure, it has monsters in it, but the portrayal of Spain under Franco and the Maquis is pretty interesting.

There are pretty interesting films about SCW.

Land and freedom (Tierra y Libertad) is a good one, probably the best.

Zulu

Waterloo
Zulu

>portrayal of Spain under Franco
It barely portrays that at all other than the ending scene, most of the film is a little girl hanging around goblins and shit. It's like saying Peter Pan is Veeky Forums approved movie about the Victorian England.

>It's like saying Peter Pan is Veeky Forums approved movie about the Victorian England.
are you saying it's not?

Battle of Britain, because of cool airplane maneuvering.

Tora! Tora! Tora!, because we needed a Pearl Harbor done right.

Stalingrad, because no one does WW2 quite like the Germans.

Lawrence of Arabia, because some classics never get old.

I also agree with , particularly on the last point.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying you fucking subhuman. It's only tangentially related to history and most of the tale is a child hanging around some fantasy world.

No, it's like saying that Salo is a movie about Italian fascism. Don't be so autistic. It doesn't have to be a documentary about tank battles to be directly commenting on the war.

The Birth of a Nation

>a war movie where the soldiers play soccer for 2 minutes makes it a sports movie

Enemy at the Gates
Pearl Harbor

> Pearl Harbor
please tell me you're joking.

Enemy at the Gates is like 1000x worse, you didn't realize he's baiting?

Don't be autistic. The films make their points about the political situation in non-literal ways.

I didn't watch it, so I didn't know.

Nope.

Yup.

Nope. Making some pseud allegory about politics through fantasy shit doesn't make it Veeky Forums related, it makes it Veeky Forums related since that board is pseud central.

Letters from Iwo Jima.

OK cite some home-made holocaust denial youtube vids.

The message should be one.

What does the Holocaust have to do with anything now?

probably a troll (I'm not the guy you were arguing with, but I want you guys to keep going cause it's interesting)

American Sniper

Inglourious Basterds

>a movie based on a fictional account
>a slapstick nazisploitation comedy

Africa Addio

any good or a meme?

Sorcerer

youtube.com/watch?v=Caf6bThiao4

Y'all can meme very well, thanks.

Now lets get back to some decent Veeky Forums films please.

The City of Life and Death.

Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo

>best damn ground i ever saw
>such lovely ground
>perfect ground
>the ground the ground the ground the ground

Everything has to do with the holohoax

...

>American Sniper
?

...

Zulu

Meme, literal Turkish propaganda and shit production values. But it's the only film made about the event so you might as well watch it.

Gods and Generals
youtu.be/AnNWtDRrHrQ?t=21s

For some reason people never mention westerns in these threads, even though there's a fuckload of westerns out there and they're by definition historical.

>12 years a slave

That is a pretty good comedy imo.

The VVitch
Solid period piece with historically accurate dialogue as well

Not him but I actually liked it. It didn't deserve the Oscar, but the costumes, the sets and the dialects were top tier in accuracy and they tried as much as possible to stay true to the source. It also had much less virtue signaling and FUK WHITE PIPO sentiments than you'd expect from such a movie.

Patrician as fuck film.

Cabaret is a good one about the rise of the Nazi party and antisemitism in 1930s Germany.

youtube.com/watch?v=29Mg6Gfh9Co

youtube.com/watch?v=mEhHeILa3HE

Fantastic film.

Read the book, nimrod.

Braveheart

Count of Monte Cristo

Crouching Tiger Dragon

>Dead Lands
My nigga

Go fuck yourself balkanrapebaby

Edgy

A Bridge Too Far
Come and See
Das Boot
Stalingrad
Ivan's Childhood
Gallipoli
Glory
Band of Brothers (it's a series, but whatever)

Marketa Lazarova
Valley of the Bees

I'll add:

Amistad

Pic unrelated, for sure

The language of the butterflies

There's a book of Crouching Tiger?

I think that you mean "Butterfly´s Tongue"

how the FUCK has no one mentioned this yet?

I'm obviously talking about the acclaimed novelization of Braveheart

>Braveheart
There's a Braveheart novel?

I like Plunkett & MacLeane. good costumes, and young Liv Tyler.

Oh, and Allan Cummings as a glorious flaming faggot of course

Yeah, my bad. bad translation.

A great film that simply cannot be understood by women.

Tangerines. Set during the georgian civil war in the 90s in Abkhazia. Not very much action but the acting is good and its pretty emotional.

Nice b8 m8

This was very good.

I Served the King of England

I can't believe no ones has mentioned 'I Served the King of England'

Come and See

Z U L U

>Shooting at the ground

Very difficult to find, but good.

not 100% historically correct (makes hussars looks like bunch of idiots and cossacks dindu nuffing boys) but the costumes are fucking amazing, and music is fantastic too

Like Hemingway's literature, really.

>Arn, the templar
>Hotel Rwanda
>Kurt Seyit v Sura
Last one is a series about late imperial Russia, I liked it a lot.

That movie made me so extremely sad, especially the ending.

Same with tons of scenes in this one.

It's not hard to find, it literally got a great restoration and release last year

youtube.com/watch?v=6504eRh5h6M&t=25s

It may be the Veeky Forums side of me, but I find that Napoleon really attractive, he sort of reminds me of Griffith from Berserk.
