that's hilarious. in World War One a census was taken of the German troops to be delivered to high command. During this census it was discovered Jews were not only in the rear serving as supply and cargo operators but they also compromised a significant portion of front line infantryman!
They then decided it best to highly downplay this info on afterwards to those left over in German ranks after the war was over. suggesting some were present ironically up until WW2.

Of course considering how good the pay was and what little else in the colonies paid decent..

Lettow was too pure for this world. After the war was over he became best friends with the British generals who fought against him and returned to Tanzania to meet his former troops, who welcomed him as a king and performed a big festival in his name.
After WW2 all his children died in the war and his house was destroyed by bombing, but his old British friends reached out to him and pulled some strings and got him a new house and a well paying job

This is exactly what I meant. there was literally about 1-5 recorded blacks that fought in Europe. from my knowledge most blacks of the German colonies fought in Africa yet Battlefield 1 decided to shoehorn blacks into the game just so people would buy it while giving 0 shits to historical accuracy.

More than 1-5. There were African Units. In a World Undone they talk about how Germans covered in soot got friendly fired at Verdun because they though they were the Black French soldiers who were deployed in the area.

It wasn't a lot, but possibly in the thousands. There was actually a war in Africa at the same time though, and Indian and African troops fought in that in large numbers (for the theater), making up most of the soldiers. Read African Kaiser.
