If you lived in interwar, Weimar era Germany which political faction would you have supported?

If you lived in interwar, Weimar era Germany which political faction would you have supported?

I personally would have gone with the National Socialists pre-Hitler. And the National Bolsheviks after Hitler had betrayed the party by sucking bourgeoisie cock he completely forgot about "class unity".

Having foreknowledge of future events or not?

Strasserism but I'm not German so what do I care

Freikorps reporting for duty.

Hitler was essentially right, but premature. Let Stalinism rule Europe for a few decades and all Western European nations would be like Poland and Hungary now, hating communism and Jew-wise. Then we could be exploring deep space by now.

No knowledge of future events, only information you had available to you at the time

Then probably Hitlerian national socialism.

The SPD was always right.

They could have prevented both world wars and the cold war, if only they were listened to.

What does hating communists and Jews have to do with space faring?

Literally any party but Hitlerist Nat Soc would have prevented WW2.

A DNVP-led Germany would probably have stirred up some shit sooner or latter and started a war.

> Stabbing the KPD when literal RIGHT WING DEATHSQUADS are maurauding in the back is "right".

>killing communists in the name of Social Democracy
>not the literal definition of right

They hold humanity back.

SPD is the only correct answer.

Do they even teach you in your shitty school about Molotov-Ribbentrop pact?

>the people who got humans into space in the first place held humanity back
user pls

I'm Catholic so probably Zentrum.

The Russians?

So what you're saying is the whole "Christians/Catholics are cosmopolitan, self-hating, traitors" is, infact, true?

This so much.

It's true that you are uneducated moron who doesn't even know what was Zentrum.

>I personally would have gone with the National Socialists pre-Hitler. And the National Bolsheviks after Hitler had betrayed the party by sucking bourgeoisie cock he completely forgot about "class unity".
This.

What is it with you virgin faggots and revealing your "le sci fi" nerd bullshit powerlevel?

I would be a national socialism supporter, most likely. While I may support the national socialism that Strasser preached early on, once the economy tanked and the Nazi campaign got into full swing, I would likely end up siding with them. When you can't put food on the table, you're going to vote for the guy going all around the country in full-campaign mode saying he is going to make it all better. Hitler, whether you like him or not, was a great speaker who could enchant a crowd. He knew what to say, said it right and got elected. With no foresight and only the circumstances given to me at the time, Hitler wouldn't be a bad choice.

>Literally any party but Hitlerist Nat Soc would have prevented WW2.
Would it really? The military was secretly rearming itself well before Hitler was on the scene. There was a sizable portion of the population with conservative (by conservative I mean supporting the monarchy, Junkers, and militaristic values pre-Weimer) leanings who wanted nothing but to get out of Versailles and regain lost lands. I think some form of WW2 happens in one way or another with Germany at the center.

Real Badasses.

Natsocs. BUt only if i didnt knew ahat ww2 would lead too. I mean i would do anyhting to make germany win ,

I would have likely been with the communists but then i would probably join the strasserists later on due to nationalism

KPD is the only way to be. Save Germany from the wretches of Capitalism

I would be a fan of hindenburg
I would not like Hitler
I would probably not be a resistance fighter or anything like that, I would however be very vocal of my dislike of Hitler
would prolly end up with me being put in some camp once he gets into power
I would be anti war
Is there any centre party ? Id vote for them

kill urself

Fuck off to /pol/ retard.

Go move to these "based" countries like Poland or Hungary, if they're so great why any sane person would rather live in France?

Btw, Jews barely have any influence at all in Europe. In the US sure, they are present, but it's only natural as a fuckton of the Jews migrated there in the past. Still, their role is marginal.

Christian party

In 20 years all urban areas in France will be brown shitholes like in America.

No, in 20 years France will still be a far more livable country than "based" shitholes like Poland.

And no one cares about projections out of your ass.

France is going to keep collapsing until it descends into a reach/holy war that spreads throughout Europe.

DNVP, get Wilhelm III on the throne rather than his nutty old dad. Under him, Germany would be able to reclaim all its lost territories without being stupid enough to provoke an impossible to win war like Hitler did.

What a bunch of lads.

Well, what WERE the actual factions running around interwar Germany?

Commie

You're making me sad with this shit, how can /pol/ produce such morons.

If you don't know then ur opinion doesnt really matter

None. I probably wouldn't give a shit about politics just like now.

That said, i'd keep to myself, try not get on anyone's bad side and try to survive when the war comes. Then after war is over i'd live a comfy life thanks to a post-war Wirtschaftswunder.

I'd be part of the Bavarian People's Party. Which is a right wing pre vatican ii catholic party

>Not moving to Poland
>OP talking about political groups like it's fucking pledge week.

Christ.

Poland was poorer than Germany.

Wow, that's pretty stark.
I thought Hitler was most popular in Bavaria/Munich?

So many retarded Nazis.

>Veeky Forums
More like /pol/. What a joke.

Nobody is emigrating to the US?

Ernst Thalmann's

NAZBOL

DVP is literally the right option desu.

Switzerland, at the latest in 1933

>No, in 20 years France will still be a far more livable country than "based" shitholes like Poland.
If current trends continue, lol nope.

In all honesty, I would have likely found certain aspects of the National Socialist party appealing, but I would have ultimately supported one of the regular right wing factions. The National Socialists would have appeared to be too authoritarian and anti-Semitic, if I knew that about them at the time. I am Christian, and economically and socially conservative, and some of my ancestry is Jewish.

This desu. Democratic Communist Germany would have saved the world from WW2

USPD (socialist party)
>No knowledge of future events, only information you had available to you at the time
KPD (communist party)
KPD was way, way too Stalinist. We would have seen WWII with Germany and USSR vs. the capitalist west.
>Is there any centre party ? Id vote for them
Zentrum was literally the most popular party throughout the 1920s.

Catholic centre party because I'm a catholic right of centre that believes in nobility and monarchy

>democratic
KPD wasn't democratic. They were nothing more but Stalin's agents. Comintern was full controlled by the Soviets.

BVP was the Bavarian party.

DDP because giving your vote to a non-extreme, pragmatic and democratic party was literally the only not retarded thing to do at that time

>saved the world from WW2
Are you retarded? They would probably buttfuck all of europe alongside with soviets.
Or would provoke british/french intervention just after election, which would piss off soviets.

>Democratic Communist
Oxymoron.

All of communism =/= Leninism

When has communism ever veen implemented democratically? Even the anarchist experiment in Catalonia and the Paris Commune have been totalitarian.

No, those were anarchist.

They are supposed to share the same goal of a society with communists. Anyway, the point still stands, communism has never been implemented democratically.

Yeah but we were talking about a hypothetical scenario of the KPD gaining widespread support in Germany. That would have been a communist party put into power by democratic votes.

Being elected is not the be-all and end-all of democraticness though.

Probably SDP, my family were hardcore (Swedish) social democrat supporters if you go back in time. For example there was an actual argument/conflict over the fact that one of my older relatives was together with a snobby, higher middle class man who voted for one of the right wing parties. Today it's more general political apathy though.

Seeing what your country is enduring is awful, man. Hope things turn better.

Absolutely this.

KPD for sure

Without foreknowledge, either DVP, since that would be my current affiliation or KPD, since it would be different circumstances and I would've probably reacted well to them.

with foreknowledge, DNVP. Keep my head low for 12 years, as a non-member of the NSDAP, less flak from the allies

Wer hat uns verraten?

This tbqh

Salvador Allende was democratically elected to the Chilean presidency in 1970, HOWEVER, that was by plurality only. The Christian Democratic Party formed a coalition with his other opponents (pretty much everyone) to oppose him and jump start the coup that put Pinochet in power in 1973. I'm not too sure about this, but I don't think Allende got very far with implementing a Marxist state in Chile in those 3 years. Whether or not it counts as "democratically elected communism" is up to the eye of the beholder. To me, even though Chile wasn't transformed into a state like the USSR or Cuba, it serves as probably the only example of a democratically elected Marxist in history.

I would just move to America.

SPD

No. No. No. A million billion times no.
First of all, Marxists taking over Weimar Germany is about as plausible as Hitler bending the knee to Versailles. Most Germans in the 1920's and early 30's saw the Nazis in the same light as they saw the communists: A bunch of violent radicals who would lead the country to destruction. However, the majority of the political parties of Germany were centrist, center-right, or just plain right wing. Among these were the old conservatives who wanted to see the monarchy reestablished, nationalists/militarists who wanted Germany to regain her former glory, and the middle class and industry, who did not want to see any form of Marxism in Germany. Even Paul von Hindenburg, who saw Hitler as a tyrant and wanted nothing to do with him, saw the Nazis as a better alliance than the communists. He even wanted to fire his chancellor after the 1932 Presidential election, where Hindenburg was elected on a pro-socialist/worker agenda, which he detested deeply.

So not only would the political climate never even allow for the KPD to take power in Germany, but even if it did, the war would still go on. With a communist Germany and USSR, it is likely the other Eastern European countries like Poland would fall red, yielding a map that resembled that Cold War Iron Curtain + a full (not partitioned) communist Germany. The other European countries + the U.S. would be fully opposed to them. Japan, due to territorial disputes with the USSR that came long before their march across the Pacific, would likely either stay as a third party fighting the USSR itself or align with the Allies. They would have to, starting at the French-Germany border, have to fight both the German and Soviet military and make it to Moscow. That would make for a still very bloody WW2.

You're a fucking retard if you think people didn't switch allegiances or form splinter groups within political parties.

Also why the fuck would you move to Poland it was even worse there.

A moderate member of DNVP
