>dat map

Rape

post this map on /pol/ it's basically guaranteed replies

>You will never live in Ottoman Iceland
Feels bad, Efendi.

Why that map has some part of the iberian peninsula when that never ever happened?

It sucked if you were the Sultan and it was hell on Earth if you were an Armenian.

*if you weren't

That's actually the correct map for prior to the Battle of Tours.

are you nutts? the otomans had nothing to do with that.
Otomans never stood a foot into iberian peninsula.

It's guaranteed replies here, too.

Turks don't understand chronology

Because a Muslim was in a certain place and killed a non muslim, it means that the place was a part of the ottoman empire

this.

armenians had every kind of privilege.

The North African road system of trees and farm-maintainers was destroyed for roaming goat herds, and the economy collapsed because of it and that in turn ramped up piracy in the Mediterranean to absurd levels, which led to massive slavery, which lead to the exportation of blacks to the Americas.

>The North African road system of trees and farm-maintainers was destroyed for roaming goat herds

Any more info on this? When did it occur?

When did the ottoman conquer east Africa like ehopia or Somalia I understand they did trade but they werent apart of there empire

> The North African road system of trees and farm-maintainers was destroyed for roaming goat herds
Interesting, got sources senpai?

Turk here i'll answer
As a Turk, it was pretty shit to live in Anatolia unless you got to live in Istanbul. Anatolia was a warzone from 1500s to 1740s. Tensions between Nomadic Turks and Settled Turks, Jalali revolts (they were so bad that turkish peasants started to sell their fields to buy rifle/sword to protect themselves), Safavid Ottoman wars, no investment in Anatolia made Anatolia even more backwards than African countries. When Ottoman Empire started to decline it got even worse. If you're lucky you could be a Sipahi, only Turks could be sipahi, sometimes a bureucrat/civil servant/vizier etc. Merchants were mostly either Jewish or Christian so they controlled the trade and were the "middle class"
Overall, it was shit.

But in my opinion, Jalalis were right.
