Due diligence is key. Visit coinmarketcap.com for info. Be aware that this is the wild west of investing and is basically unregulated. My long term picks are iota, omg, xmr, and bnt. Be aware that I own these coins and will shill them any chance I get. Be aware that everyone wants your money and most coins will go to zero

Research technical analysis for proper entries and exits. Plenty of vids on youtube. Check out CryptoNews and TheCryptoSniper. Veeky Forums will tell you it's a meme, because we like to buy high and sell low, but it's important to get proper entries and not just throw money out the window

Wire money to coinbase. Transfer those funds to GDAX. DO NOT trade on coinbase, only use it as your fiat gateway. GDAX is owned by coinbase and has much lower fees. Once you have your coins, you can put them in cold storage or transfer to a crypto-only exchange such as Bittrex.
