Scams do not work like that. Too much work and effort for a project means it is less likely to be a scam.

It makes no sense because it is easier and safer to use the same effort for something real and legal. It's a no brainer to go the legal and real way.

I think it is just the hype. Most XBY investors, like me, have more realistic expectations. I may be wrong and maybe all of this goes to nowhere, but I think the risk is worth it for now and I follow the Slack to track progress and team dynamica, which are pretty good right now.

Actually, the node's funds are yours. You can also sell the node. I do not find any problem with that, since there is no third party holding your money. No scam.
