Name a more tragic character

Pro tip: You can't

Rey Carlos II

Why did you edit out his giant cock

...

Good post

>inherits empire in shambles
>starts his reign with gruesome civil war against the hungarians
>loses war to france, first and last time taking supreme command of an army himself
>loses war to prussia
>his brother gets killed in mexico
>his son and heir commits suicide
>his wife gets murdered
>his nephew and heir gets killed
>his last two years of life were taking his country through the most horrible war humanity had ever experienced
>he died knowing they can't win it either
how do you top this?

>mama huevo sudaca

>Rich boy becomes a mason, betrays his country and destroys the lives of millions of people due sheer autism creating the American balkans with his tyranny
There is nothing tragic about a psycopath failing

Puyi

this
fuck that frenchie-infected chamo

He got so far but it didn't even matter in the end

Consort Qi

...

this feeling...

wew lad

I fucking hate life.

>persians declare their intention to uproot christianity and destroy rome
>struggle for decades and eventually succeed
>lose most of what was fought for a couple years later

Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

this.

>make Greece great again
>get shot

>be tiny man
>ride a horse called palomo
that's tragic all right

The last byzantine emperor probably could top that because he had the weight of a 1000 year old legacy resting on his shoulders as he looked out at a sea of turks with no help in sight.

He was a bad ruler, but I think you'd be hard pressed to argue that he and everyone even vaguely connected with him (e.g. his sister-in-law) deserved to die. It's not like he was some psychopath ruler, he really was doing what he thought was best for the country.

literally can't

Valentinian II, the answer is always Valentinian II. The kid spent his life as a political puppet and when he tried exercising even a little bit of powered got bullied mercilessly, had his best friend killed right in front of him so he'd know who was in charge and Arbogast laughed in face at the thought of him actually ruling anything in deed instead of just name. This led to suicidal depression and he hung himself at the age of 21.

Bolivar is the definition of I TRIED SO HARD AND GOT SO FAR but at least he got that opportunity. Poor Valentinian II never even got that.

Russia's last hope, betrayed by the Tsar (his "leftist" assassin was really in the employ of the secret police).

Gracchi Brothers were pretty fucking tragic man.

Bolivar always strikes me as a capable man whose downfall was the inability to form a good cabinet.

>be wealthy bourgeois landowner
>have left-wing populist movement named after you 160 years after your death

???

>be a Napoleon LARPer
>that's why leftards everywhere adores you, because they hate the capitalism created by the eternal anglo

>Even in death you save my life
;_;

F

>fought so hard for independence
>realized too late that everyone around him was a spic

Context please

He dies. But not to lower morale of crew they tell the crew nothing happened.

>Muh Presidency for Life

The thread was kinda asking for it

Extra Credit did a good series about him

San Martin is way more tragic

Pretty sure he denounced Napoleon though

This. Bolivar did not have anyone else who shared his zeal for Republicanism.

>not coming after feudalism comes capitalism, then socialism
Bolivar tried to bring freedom to people who did not have any, something the left is for. Keep in mind in French Revolution it was the leftists advocating freedoms and shit

>French Revolution was a left movement.

Really? all they were a bunch of butthurt bourgeois

Broken dreams so grand, sing of his final stand, long live Carolus.

Or Manuel Belgrano

This.

I've never read about S. Bolivar, but this sounds like decent myth-deconstructing history that im familiar with. Any good books?

Why do people think this? Bloody Sunday happened. Nicky was an oppressive king who was cool with slaughtering protesters. His wife deserved it too, she was often quite involved with decision making. His kids didn't deserve it though, although Alexei probably would've died from a paper cut anyways.

And the 'Left' at the time did get their way with the Revolution by forming a republic.

It is all relative to the Overton window though.

>Talented young man who questions authority
>Sent to one of Manchuria's best universities
>Drink the Pan-Asian kool-aid and is excited for an Asia for the Asians, not just the Japanese
>Sees Japan as only wanting to help other helpless Asians
>Makes friends with Chinese, Koreans and Russians which makes him excited for the future of a united Asia
>Foreign friends dislike Imperial Japan's for discrimination and taking territory
>Gradually loses respect for Japan for abusing Pan-Asianism for Japanese gains
>Commits sudoku, disillusioned with country and Pan-Asian dreams and full knowledge of the abuses Japan made towards the people who were in the lands Japan was trying to take

>>Rich boy becomes a mason, betrays his country and destroys the lives of millions of people due sheer autism creating the American balkans
Any good books covering this?

I feel somewhat proud that my FaceEdit of Carlos II has become the basis for many memes.
