She's right. The Catholic Church was the only thing that filled the power vacuum after Rome fell. The scholastic/modern university system literally came from monasteries and that's only one example.

Also, the library was destroyed in a civil war against Caesar, not Christians. Although it is true that a later Roman Christian emperor destroyed pagan temples; one of which housed a remaining part of the library. But the library in large was already gone by then.
