The true Romans were Christian though.

>true Romans
>didn't even control Rome

>brutally persecuted Christians
Because they refused to be a part of the civil society and actively undermined Roman authority. It's like you have this amazing nation state and then these ugly refugees from the Middle East come in and refuse to conform to your culture and cling to their extremist views. They deserved everything they got.

>encouraged sexual degeneracy
They were no more degenerate than any other empire of the time, less so than most of the Eastern empires.

>killed and subjugated other civilizations
Who themselves had killed and subjugated their neighbors. It's almost like conflict and conquest are a part of human civilization in a fundamental way.

>destroyed ancient sacred sites because muh Mars
My favorite story is Pompey going into the sacred synagogue, peering into the ark of the covenant and then coming out and saying, "It wasn't a big deal, just a big empty box. Stupid Jews."

>brutally persecuted Christians
ancient history's biggest lie, the numbers of christians persecuted were greatly exaggerated
>encouraged sexual degeneracy
Probably less than other empires comparable to it's size
>killed and subjugated other civilizations
Guess what nearly every single succesful empire has done though all of history, do you even Veeky Forums?
>destroyed ancient sacred sites because muh Mars
Negligible damage compared to that done by christians later on

?

>muh sexual degeneracy

No the Romans were the good guys, everyone else was evil. Vae victis.

The romans were Christians longer than they were pagan.

No they were Romans

No. "Christians" are evil.

Was Nero that bad of an Emperor or did he get a ton of flak in history cause of how the senate hated him?
I just have surface knowledge on Nero and i keep hearing mixed things about him. Either he is a terrible tyrant or that his wrongdoings were extremely exaggerated

Wtf I love Rome now

No they were great for those exact reasons.

Too bad they drank the Christcuck koolaid tho.

>brutally persecuted Christians
They deserved it tbqh
>encouraged sexual degeneracy
Pure propaganda made up by Christian scholars/propagandists during the dark ages. Even if it was true, it would been a small thing and no big deal.
>killed and subjugated other civilizations
There's not wrong with that, events such as the 3rd Punic war were purely defensive.
>destroyed ancient sacred sites because muh Mars
A small price to pay for the advancement of civilization.

literally what?

They were also shit for longer than they were great.

There's no such thing as good and evil when it comes to geopolitics.

The Romans were strong and they subjugated the weak.

>events such as the 3rd Punic war were purely defensive.
Are you serious?

Christians and jews were cunts back then. Everyone hated them and with good reason.

>There's no such thing as good and evil when it comes to geopolitics.

Wrong...

Eros is a god - compared to monotheism's dependency on terrorizing people for sexuality - it's quite "sexually degenerate."

One of those is not like the others. There's nothing wrong with "sexual degeneracy", OP.

>implying sexual degeneracy is bad
>MUH PURITY!!!

>be degenerate shitposters
>form one of the greatest empires of all time
>become christcucks
>empire denigrates

really makes you think...

Constantinople has also been known as Rome dude.

Of course, they were evil imperialists.

Just look at the name, Roman Empire. Not Mediterrane Empire, not European Empire.
They name gave it away that it was basically a city state opressing a whole continent

implying persecuting Christians is a bad thing and sexual "degeneracy" is even a bad thing to anyone that isn't a beta male virgin

This place is about history and Humanities. Why even ask the question if something was evil?

>brutally persecuted Christians
Nothing wrong with that.
>encouraged sexual degeneracy
Nothing wrong with that.
>killed and subjugated other civilizations
That's what empires do.
>destroyed ancient sacred sites because muh Mars
They built a lot in return.

Yes, but you can say that about every civilization
