It's true the Soviets had pretty good land based weapons; artillery, tanks, IFVs/APCs, infantry weapons, helicopters and SAMs, because this was their doctrine as they projected to fight a war in eastern europe, on the land. American naval and aerial power were far outpacing Soviet. From sheer tonnage to technology the USAF and USN would have made a joke out of the Soviet.

So basically it depends on the battleground. Russians invading the US navally? Suicide. A land war deep in Russia? Americans wouldn't even get to Stalingrad.

If the USSR invaded Western Europe in 1945 it would be a lot like their wars against the Finns and Germans, they'd perform horribly but still win due to their sheer numbers.

Without any Atomic weapons the Soviets would have quickly crushed NATO lines, racing to the channel. SU and Satellites were militarized to a retarded extent.

Gonna disagree with this point specifically, the Soviets had a way bigger presence in Europe than all of those powers put together. Even moreso ten years after the war was over iic. This is why Operation Unthinkable was such a big concern for the allies, they knew that if the Soviets just decided to attack Western Europe they could roll on through. Even if they couldn't win a long-term war this scenario was still scary, especially in an age where rockets were becoming more powerful and thus could deal out serious pain across the Channel.
