That the model is overpromising? It can't do what it says it can. Literally. Most transaction will fail and people want bother with the exchange. How can you build a user base when all the initial users constantly get failed trades?

I read stuff on that and they don't control it. Basically they think people will randomly sign up with pools of coin at some mark-up. Two problems. Who would do that? And for what markup? If I want Monero from Ethereum Classic and have to take a 15% hit in terms of BTC just to have some very minor convenience, why would I do that?

The size of the mark-up is the issue. As is finding people to put up the pools. I think bots would for hedging purposes as you say, but that might not materialize. Basically a bunch of hedge bots might make this scheme work and I have my doubts even then. But what do I know? This is both an econ and comp sci problem.

No, he's right. There were threads on Veeky Forums months ago about obsidian discussing its potential, and most people came to a conclusion that it's a failure. The whole concept/product is rubbish, it's another "security"-based messenger. Like there aren't enough of those as it is that no one uses. Not only that but it's a PoS, these never moon as the only ones who care about them are node owners. Also stratis code clone, dev team drama, mostly-linux function. It's a shit product and only way it will go up when it hits the exchanges is if the shills do their jobs trying to hype it.
