I think this is justification by improvement to the land. The U.S. is infinitely better than a pack of tipi-dwelling torture-worshipers, Mexico is not much better than Aztec Empire.

>>South America + Mexico Congratulations, you have tricked for the retards.
I am hispanic myself and I know that the "indigenous" like the aztecs were cannibals, made sacrifices of women and children and lived of the war with other tribes. Actually, the Conqueros were helped... BY OTHER INDIGENOUS PEOPLE.
In fact, unlike the USA, the natives had positions of nobility, could possess extensive properties and married the Creoles (White Spaniards of America). Queen Elizabeth of Spain left in her will that she wanted them to live free.
So Spain must be in God Tier.
Bentley Taylor
>Justifiable >Philippines How was "Destroying a self-declared democratic republic (and the first in Asia at that) that you helped liberate in the first place as an ally" in any way justifiable?
Grayson Barnes
The first Republic in Asia was the Ezo Republic.
Easton Gray
The Conquistadores were helped by other indigenous people because the nations surrounding the Aztec empire despised them. Aztecs are dead, and Mexico simbolizes the union between 2 cultures. Aztecs were pretty cool anyway, and so were the other indigenous cultures in the continent
James Hall
So Koreans used to be black huh
Jason Thomas
The Ezo Republic was a breakaway state so that angry samurai can continue being samurai after the Tokugawa collapsed.
The Philippine Republic was first in Asia to have a constitution that was ratified by an elected congress, a legislature, and an election.
Brody Lee
Huh? I thought he was referring to the Spanish.
Almost makes up for raping a generation of Korean women.
Ian Anderson
Well, it was similar end. Aztecs were going to suffer a rebellion of most tribes surrounding them. The spaniards just took advantage of the rebellion and allied the natives.
The consequences of spaniard presence was the death of 60+% of all amerindians, the killing of elites and priviledged amerindians, the destruction of several structures and most cultural remnants from past people and culture. Then for 400-300 years the oppression and change of social selection favouring humble retards just so they could conform with the daily misery.

>the destruction of several structures and most cultural remnants from past people and culture.
Yeah, like Machupichu? Fuck this English-separatist propaganda. Yes, some things were destroyed, but a large part of them WERE NOT. In fucking Paraguay, people continue to speak their native languages. The clergy tried to keep these cultures safe, let's see if the same could be said of the gringos who left the Indians in reserves.

>what about x It's clear that the main structures and possible sites that could interrupt the conquest were destroyed. Macchu Pichu wasn't found till half a century ago, duh.
On South America most city structures were destroyed so they could use the materials for other spanish buildings. >safe culture Did you know that there were hundreds of tribes on South America? The cultures that had the possibility to rebel against the colonial power was obliterated.
Why are you so triggered? All I said were facts. The art, textil symbols, quipus, and other artifacts were burnt from most zones in South America, and the metallurgy golden and silver art was literally melted together for the metropoli. Also, the cultural knowledge was almost obliterated because most royal families were murdered and the rest were forbidden to pass the cultural remnants they had. Not only that, but the priviledged were given also prohibitions to use native tools, only some of them kept using them with a deviated way and forgetting most of its meaning and history.
Just as an extra. The government, when Macchu Pichu was discovered, reported a lot of foreigner thiefs who robbed several golden objects and art from the site and people who just "wanted" to see it, before we got stronger regulations and money to protect the national identity. The hints they left were that they came from northern europe. I wonder what happened...

There was also mass marginilastion of Koreans and the industrialisation although helpful was for Japan's benefit and Korea already engaged in industrialisation if it's own choices during the Joseon dynasty albeit slower because less assistance (and post Korean War, America helped on that front a ton with japanese assistance from time to time). Any gains made by Japan, Korea surpassed when it was independent.
Blake Williams
Japan managed to move from the pre-modern to modern state without huge foreign intervention. Korea was dragged into a modern state and industrialization by an outside power, its entire culture and outlook was changed by the transition. Its why all these medieval/modern pictures are so misleading, yes Japan insured Korean modernization but they also forced Korea to industrialize on their terms.
