What is with "Judeo"-Christianity?

Why do they always add the "Judeo" when talking about Christian values? Why not just Christian values?

What bond does Judaism share with mainstream Christianity that it doesn't also possess with Gnosticism, Islam, or any of the rest?

Christianity is the sequel to the Judeo one.

Same God, just with a big timeskip and new intro song.

t. Christian who refuses to believe that christianity is just the most popular sect of judaism

xDDDD such a simple analogy to explain a difficult concept. you and i, brother, we could teach these kids some things. ;)

it depends, while most jews don't mind or care about Christianity, the more religious ones on a theological level agree that Islam has the same god as Judaism but they see Christianity as idolatry.

Judaism and Christianity have several ideas that are different from each other, Christianity is a lot more Europeanized than Judaism is evidenced by the fact that Christianity anthromorphizes God a lot more than Judaism

Christianity considers itself a continuation and fulfilment of Judaism - it is ideologically, theologically and historically dysfunctional without an acknowledgement of its Judaic roots.

because western culture since Martin Luther has spent a lot more time focusing on the entirety of the Bible as a unified spiritual and historical message. that's why the hard-ass Old Testament God comes up in all the fire and brimstone Protestant shit.

there's also the semantic point that most major moral philosophy (and broader intellectual traditions) in the West that doesn't come from Greco-Roman tradition can best be described as coming from Judeo-Christian because there's still a lot of Jewish philosophers who matter and the modern Christians have a lot of dissimilarities with their only shared values dating to the transition of the first group of disciples from Judaism to Christianity

There is a difference between original teachings of χρηστος which did not contain Judaism and actually opposed it and later version with Judaic additions of fathers of church. It is where all the inconsistency comes. The stitches are too rough.

> Judaism and Christianity have several ideas that are different
> Christianity is a lot more Europeanized than Judaism
> Christianity anthromorphizes God
Whoa slow down professor I can't handle the amount of knowledge you are dropping

Gotta make sure to keep Israel in your mind good goy.

It's bizarre. Judaism and Islam have more in common than Judaism and Christianity.

Because that's what (((they))) want Christians to believe. Control the money supply. Control the narrative.

Daily reminder that MLK's speech helpied popularised the term.

Artificial concept designed by neocons

T. Jew who refuses to acknowledge Judaism is just the most popular sect of Canaanite polytheism which along with Mesopotamian polytheism (which is ostensibly identical) is the most popular sect of semitic religion

It's a Post-WWII term.

It's Jews attempting to ally themselves to Christians despite hating them. It's as if they're parasites, controlling the host for their own benefit.

it's a modern american protestant (evangelical) thing...

JUDEOCHRISTIANITY, AND CHRISTIANITY, ARE NOT MUTUALLY EQUIVALENT; JUDEOCHRISTIANITY IS THE RELIGION CREATED BY SAUL OF TARSUS, AND ESTABLISHED BY ROME; CHRISTIANITY IS THE DOCTRINE CREATED BY JESUS, AND VIRTUALLY EXTINGUISHED BY JUDEOCHRISTIANITY.

Well the old testament is part of the bible, our values partly derive from it, it is Jewish, maybe that's why

Protestantism has close to nothing to do with Christian values

its derived from Christianity though isn't it? as in splintered off from it? So technically they are related aren't they?

This.
It is an ideological construction to explain the moral basis of the West. It was a way of uniting Protestantism, Catholicsm, and Judaism into one theological basis that was unilaterally opposed to both Fascism and atheistic Communism, a sort of pan-Westernism.
Don't forget before WWII most people in the West were at least passingly anti-semetic, they really had to invent a myth of how the Jews were always a cherished and treasure md part of the West and convince people not to hate them

sounds like a conspiracy- are you from /pol/x?

I don't know, other than its roots. Jews hate Christianity with a passion; the Talmud itself is one long shitpost against it, and the rest of thte goyim for that matter.

this

claims require evidence young man

Not him but that's some common knowledge you're asking citation for lmao

Do you also want some evidence for muslims hating jews too "young man"

>Not him
Citation needed.
>common knowledge
Not outside of pol it isn't matey
>muslims hate jews
Islam is a religion of peace you bigot!

Not really. It's considered Christian but it's an intentional break from Christian tradition in favor of the scripture only. Judeo-Christian is also a meme used by Lutherans/Protestants because it aligns with their political goals of Zionism.

Because to Wall Street the Jew is cool - Israel is the rage - the Trinity is as legit as anything else - and Moses is hoppin!

What does this image show?

Judeo-Christians are basically the first Christian communities following Peter. Their way of life will inspire monachism in Europe.
