When someone tries to identify the "Good guys" and "Bad guys" in a war

Well, we always try to make such unbelievably destructive events morally justified. It's good for sleep.
Just for shits and giggles, though, let's play a game. I'll post a war and someone replies by posting who the good and bad guys were, along with another war.
I'll start us off.

The 30 Years War
It's very difficult for people not to moralize things. Even if you reject the concept that one nation is superior to another in war, you'll still end up looking for somebody to blame. So you'll end up blaming the upper classes of both nations, and look at the soldiers in the field as being disenfranchised victims of their machinations. This is still moralizing the conflict, just in a different way.
