I would say We have retained more of our different culture than the French desu, they have nearly lost all they languages, while in Spain they couldn't (or after a while, wanted) destroy them. Regionals views, heroes and stuff change a lot (or as much as a globalizated Europea country can) from village to village between comunities it's like traspassing to another country.(a Basque or an andalucian are nothing a like, or a Galician and a Catalan) even when we all can Speak spanish and see and consume lots of the same stuff, the laws and climate change a lot.
