Cultural Revolution Appreciation Thread

I honestly think that, out of all the major authoritarian socialist leaders, Mao would probably be my favorite and the one who best understood the dictatorship of the proletariat/put the most emphasis on people power. I find it very surprising how he was able to allow for direct democracy and decentralization during the Cultural Revolution, even though his end goal was to gain more power. I also like how the landlord classicide was done by the peasants themselves as opposed to top-down secret police.

If serious, kys

Do you know why he allowed it?

Because he was weak and old, and could die any second.

10/10 comrade here is your mango

>the one who best understood the dictatorship of the proletariat
>the man who literally advocated for class collaboration and a peasant based revolution understood the DoP.

Wow a pro-Cultural Revolution thread? Neck yourself. No one in China thinks highly of the Cultural Revolution.

Is this a falseflag? No one can be this fucking retarded

Mao saved China from a far worse fate.

This, there is a reason Mao won out in popularity in the end, because he liberated the country from the corrupt KMT nationalists and warlords.

Do not forget the flying bourgeois purge

Chiang was fighting off the Japanese while the C*mmunists hid away like the spineless swine they are.

...

Mao was pretty based. He staunchly resisted Western imperialism, and his actions and sacrifices allowed China to become a rising superpower.

bro didn't Mao kill a bunch of his own people XD

> Yes, a lot of people died but at least we have healthcare and nukes now.

DO IT AGAIN CHAIRMAN MAO

Chiang and his accommodations for petty warlords and criminals did more to damage the Chinese war effort than anything else, while a better of U.S. monetary aid went to the pockets of corrupt KMT officials.

how many people those guys killed?

LOL, commie faggots defending Lmao. What are you followers of Maoist Fag News?

>?

The maoists win fair and square but it was jist as much a military victory tbg

Fuck you! Gweilo!

Cultural Revolution was just Mao's personal power struggle to maintain his reputation and power. It nearly destroyed all the priceless cultural and historical heritages of my nation, regardless bad or good; it caused tremendous chaos to society and greatly damage social moral, a whole generation of people can't get proper education and poor like shits. Deng Xiaoping's brother was forced to suicide, his son was hurt and crippled by red guards and becoming a paraplegic. Even Deng himself was imprisoned and beaten by red guards.

We spent over 30 years to repair the damages and wounds cause by cultural revolution. Every achievements, everything we enjoy today, are based on the introspection, correction and negate to fucking Cultural Revolution!

Deng Xiaoping and his reforms lead China to prosperity, not Mao and his madness. So stop your irresponsible delusion, gweilo!

Cultural revolution didnt kill that many

>t. Adopted chinese happa larping as modern mainland cantonese larping as a nationalist

> allowed China to become a rising superpower.
That was Deng Xiaoping. Mao mostly got people to starve to death and caused all the educated people to flee or be tortured while the youth were busy being hooligans instead of being in school.

mautism

You're right, I was referring to the great leap forward too, my mistake. The Cultural Revolution killed half a million at the least and two million at the most (sources of Meisner, Chung and Halliday), so we'll call it 1.25m and call it a day.

Beautiful. I motion to keep Mao-tism or Mau-tism

我還真是中國人耶。鬼佬。

>i really am chinese, white boi
google translate

Joke going around on Chinese social media:

Chairman Mao: "Can the people eat their fill?"
Us: "There's so much to eat they're dieting!"
Chairman Mao: "Are there still capitalists?"
Us: "They're all doing business overseas now!"
Chairman Mao: "Do we produce more steel than England?"
Us: "Tangshan alone produces more than America."
Chairman Mao: "Did we beat social imperialism (the USSR)?"
Us: "They dissolved it themselves!"
Chairman Mao: "Did we smash imperialism?"
Us: "We're the imperialists now!"
Chairman Mao: "And what about my Cultural Revolution"?
Us: "It's in America now!"

That's pretty funny. However, nothing that's happening in the US is even remotely comparable to the Cultural Revolution.

Watashi wa Kimochi to you too, fellow Vietnamese.

The thing is the Chinese cultural revolution was a mere material cleansing of history by the modernist fire. It failed to actually sap the Confucian roots of the society out since it was superficially concerned with the aesthetic-functional side of things as per modernist perspective. US revisionism and the entropic social justice on the other hand is a passive and much more underhanded modernist fire that slowly but surely extinguishes the very roots of society. A simple example would be how many Americans value the notion of 'freedom' as it was set in the founding of the country as a notion of a theistically imbued self-transcendence compared to how man Chinese value the notion of family, order, success in examination and equilibrium of Chi?

The entire fact that Americans themselves, even of the conventional rightist inclination, gloat 'everything is fine' amidst their house obviously burning down is a testament to the fact that the American cultural revolution is much more successful than the Chinese one

>since it was superficially concerned with the aesthetic-functional side of things
Yeah, all those persecutions of the literati , shutdown of educational institutions as reactionary and the loss of collectivist community values to the youth informing on their parents and teachers was sure aesthetic

...

>classicide
That's just genocide.

>He staunchly resisted Western imperialism
Lol bullshit he attended Yale in the East and was bankrolled by the Rockefellers and other Western moneyed plutocrats. PRC was fostered from the ground up by the internationalist money power to be the worlds' factory decades ago.

Gonna need some proofs on that one...

you can choose your class, you cannot choose your race

Dumbest statement ive read here yet and that is saying something.
Nobody choses their class.

Okay, even granting that, Chiang couldn't do anything for China even after his victory, even if Mao didn't fight him. It would have been a Zaire tier nightmare.

If you're stacking bodies though, Barefoot Doctors probably put the cultural revolution as a net positive.

shouldn't it be the other way around

>a lot of people died but our life expectancy jumped by a third and we eradicated famine
eh... still shitty but kind of a trade off

You are Diane Abbott and I claim my £5.
