However, when we look at Africa, it's interesting to note that their buildings have remained unchanged for thousands of years. What's even more interesting is that Africa supposedly housed the first bipedal hominids to ever exist in the history of our planet, meaning these pelple have literally had more time and exposure to human knowledge and advancements than anyone else on this fucking planet. And even with BILLIONS in aid yearly, pic related is the best they are capable of producing.

A lot of the fucked up shit in Africa is the result of genetics and the result of pooling people in cities without understanding that high trust society was built on a particular lineage of genetics and de facto eugenics amongst a lot of high trust nations (Manorialism, Hajnal line).

And without those sorts of companies, you can't really build up a merchant class unless you're willing to give arm dealers, warlords, thieves, and others that same social status.
Western aid stifled the development of the African middle class by two decades. Now the Chinese are entering the southern half and actually involving the blacks in building infrastructure. With the implication that resources will be sold/priotized to the Chinese shell companies which in turn route the money to party owned banks.

No it was the events during the 80's that fucked shit up and the fact that development slowed down due to outside factors, the cold war was sputtering to a slow stop.

There are merchants in Africa who sell lots of stuff though. They just aren't even noticed because people prefer not to see them at all.
The reason China is doing infrastructure is because they can do it cheap because the profit margins aren't high enough for western companies and said weren't companies don't have government assistance.
