It's fair to note that both in China and the USSR, communism was preceded by involvement in a World War, massive civil wars, foreign invasion and huge outbreaks of disease (Spanish flu and bubonic plauge in China).

You also had foreign intervention in both cases to keep Nationalists alive long after they had no hope of winning, simply for blood letting the communists. Then the Communist regimes were cut off from trade.

Despite all this industrialization and life expectancy grew faster than in 19th century America. Note that colonial powers killed similar numbers of people to gain and hold the colonies they used to develop as well.

The economic collapse that took place in Russia after it switched to capitalism should be blamed primarily on the Jews.
